Says in the papers hearts beat rangers to sign berra I doubt rangers were even interested in first place he may have been on the list but no chance he was a priority signing . Newspapers tut.

Rangers1872B

1.) 10 May 2017 11:40:28
It just seems like one of the random rumours started up by these HITC or Football Insider websites tbh, our interest in Berra that is, but I highly doubt he would have been on Caixinhas radar, maybe the boards but not his, considering we have shown an interest before.

Think its a mistake to let a player like that slip by on a free though, especially if hearts can afford his wages.

Probably means Paterson will be heading to Ipswich aswell in the not too distant, been rumours of this for a while. That'll be 2 quality bosman deals we missed AGAIN.

2.) 10 May 2017 12:07:41
How does berra signing for hearts mean Patterson is going to Ipswich?

3.) 10 May 2017 12:32:05
Rangers and hearts were alerted to him leaving ipswich newsreel i seen hearts was his preferred option

4.) 10 May 2017 13:04:40
MikeGer there has been talk of it for months that Ipswich are interested, sure I'm speculating some but can see it happening all the same. Seems a bit of coincidence that this was talked about months ago and now Berra is (likely) going to Hearts.

5.) 10 May 2017 17:50:30
Glad we missed Berra he's p. h

The s*n reporting Lafferty wants a return to rangers .

Rangers1872B

1.) 26 Apr 2017 18:11:51
Right now as we speak, i would have him back. he's finally grown balls and grew up much better than garner and waghorn without doubt. he turns up for big games and has a knack getting a few goals in those games, but will never ever forget the way half of them left when we were on death's bed.

i would even take mcgregor, naismith, whittaker and of course mr ulster man himself steven davis back if we had a chance. at least those players know how to beat and batter that lot across the road. remember 1 thing before we got kicked out the spl, remember it was rangers who were top dogs on 3 in a row and those glory days will be back 100% sure.

2.) 26 Apr 2017 19:28:40
I would take him back on a one year deal with a two year option

3.) 26 Apr 2017 20:21:04
Wouldn't have him anywhere near the club. Deserted us and it's strange he only wants back when his career has stalled and he hardly plays

4.) 26 Apr 2017 20:37:48
Wouldn't have any of those ones back, never.

5.) 26 Apr 2017 20:15:13
First of all i'm absolutely delighted that rangers are going to offer kenny miller a new contract! Imo, thoroughly deserved and here's why! Kenny miller is a total thoroughbred and great professional, who could put players 10 years younger than him, to shame!

For any young striker at rangers, or any other player for that matter, kenny is the perfect role model to look up to! Even if kenny doesn't start or play as much for us next season he's there and can be totally relied on! As well as his experience as a rangers striker, he's also there to help players that we're going to sign this summer, settle in, to what's expected as a rangers player!

As for kyle lafferty he's everything that kenny isn't, ie. unprofessional and only cares about himself! He's a bad influence and terrible role model! I hope to god we don't go near this waster, he's no good! He made his bed and he can lie in it! No thanks, i don't want kyle lafferty anywhere near glasgow rangers! The guy's a bad apple 100%!

6.) 26 Apr 2017 22:06:35
Can't believe the short sighted s**** on here at times. If u want to hold on to petty grudges about things that happened 5 years ago, u watch Celtic lifting 10 in a row from your sofa. On the other hand I will happily take any player who is better than what we have currently, and every player mentioned above would improve our team no doubt.

7.) 26 Apr 2017 22:28:34
I wouldant want that dud lafferty anywere near us. Got Nothing to do with what happened 5years ago just down to the fact that he is a terrible player

8.) 26 Apr 2017 23:08:24
Ok Bear2306. If Craig Whyte or Chuckles turned up offering a genuine 30m investment in the club would you take it? No grudges and all that.

9.) 26 Apr 2017 23:04:31
Kicked out the SPL? When did that happen?

10.) 26 Apr 2017 22:28:25
@bear2306 - so the above mentioned would stop 10 in a row? So in 4 years time:
Lafferty will be 34
McGregor will be 39
Naismith will be 35
Whittaker will be 37

I would much rather take a couple of years of hurt and build a team for the future rather than this quick fix nonsense of wasting money on players who don't even deserve a second chance at Rangers.

11.) 26 Apr 2017 23:15:44
joey barton wants back too - I'll bet ye he does.

12.) 27 Apr 2017 00:21:07
I am suprised at the lack of foresite fellow bears have.
Harking in about having Steven Davis back?
Kyle laugherty?

Where's the passion?

A team full of experience against a Celtic side like that is pointless

I fear rangers will hit some more financial stumbling blocks shortly - and how where is money coming from tostrengtgen this squad?

Who's paying to repair ibrox also? If something was to fall from that stadium onto a fan.

That could be it for us. I believe that.

13.) 27 apr 2017 13:18:20
steven davis and naisy are two i just couldn't say no to, for the simple fact that they are much much much much much much better than what we have and/ or could afford

14.) 27 Apr 2017 22:42:14
Davis done nothing wrong we got money for him Naismith is a no-go ever

15.) 27 Apr 2017 23:13:42
Barry Middleton, never mind deathbed it was a coffin and its 6 feet under 😂

16.) 28 Apr 2017 00:26:45
Bear are u seriously for real? I have two memories of laugherty. (i deliberately misspelt his name) . Firstly he is a loose cannon andwould danger the team. Everytime he was picked i doubted we would finish with 11. Secondly, sure he scored title clinchers but they tended to be his first goals in months. If memory serves me correctly his record v celtic is level with little and Boyd

Do you think rangers could make an aoudcious move for a player of this

Yaya toure 33
Tevez 33
Torres 32

Could get a player like that for free and give him a higher wage sacrafise 2 signings to pay the fee

That experience could make a difference plus them sort of players are tried and tested look how Celtic got Robbie Keane.

Rangers1872B

1.) 12 May 2017 13:26:40
interesting idea, but wages wouldn't be 2 signings worth, it would be our entire budget gone.

2.) 12 May 2017 13:41:22
We don't do EBTs anymore so not a change due to wage demands

3.) 12 May 2017 13:59:15
That the same torres that played for athletico in the champions league semi the other night?

4.) 12 May 2017 14:29:07
do some research before posting
Tevez is in China and has an annual salary of £31.8 million
Yaya Toure is rumoured to be on £11.6 million &
Torres £3.5 million

5.) 12 May 2017 14:35:59
Keane is a celtic supporter so that's why he went. Mind you I heard big Yaya loves watching the gers games in the louden 😂

6.) 12 May 2017 15:46:38
I seem to recall that Keane's wages were bankrolled by Dermot Desmond. Who is there at Rangers with that sort of money other than Ashley and he sure isn't interested in Rangers!

7.) 12 May 2017 16:05:03
Is keane not a supporter dm for every club he signs at 😂 plus the fact he was on 40,000 a week at least there. i smell EBT 😜😂

8.) 12 May 2017 18:11:33
Was Jobby Keane not on 65k per week when at Celtic?

9.) 13 May 2017 00:55:53
Keane is a Liverpool supporter apparently. And yes, Desmond did bankroll his wages. This was in the days before Lennoxtown and I heard a cracker of a story at the time about Keane beelin at getting dog shite all over his brand new Adidas at Barrowfield. Or was that Bellamy?

11 May 2017 10:16:24
HITC now reporting rangers should go after iheanacho from man city he's 20 years old with bags of potential and scored 14 goals in 30 premier league matches omg where do they find this stuff that guy is easily worth 8M transfer fee I'm sure other epl teams are chasing him I got to laugh at some of these rumours .

Rangers1872B

1.) 11 May 2017 10:27:48
Could always swap him for waghorn 😂😂😂 we are going to be linked with every man and his dug for next month or 2

2.) 11 May 2017 10:47:57
Man City are looking to put the young guy out on loan for this season coming, they have aguero and jesus plus their looking to bring in another striker so that wil push iheanacho further down the pecking line, there will no chance he comes to us but could be a possability he goes to the manky mob across the city due to the development paddy roberts has made with them!

3.) 11 May 2017 12:41:38
He's more likely to end up on the other side of Glasgow. Ie roberts

4.) 11 May 2017 14:14:57
Especially as lawless son is a manager at man city

5.) 11 May 2017 14:45:12
I doubt very much that our current Board are strategic enough to look at players like this and with King in charge it will always be the cheap option.

There are a significant number of quality players available on Bosmans, but they will not come cheap, and there are players, plying their trade in South America and Eastern Europe as well as the lower leagues in Italy, Spain and Germany but just as previously, we will need to depend on the manager's contacts since our Executive Management appear to be devoid of a future strategy for the club both on and off the field!

6.) 11 May 2017 15:08:40
it's totally ludicrous to think that iheanacho would be coming anywhere near us! It's not a lack of stategy from the board, you just obviously have no clue about football if you think that boy will ever play in the spfl.

7.) 11 May 2017 16:13:46
Why Og, years ago the same would have been said about Souness, Butcher, Woods etc., and guess what!

We need quality players if we are to come anywhere close to Celtic and looking at the players we currently have at our disposal we are more likely to be scrapping it out for a top six finish next season than for first place.

The Rangers Board and King need to up their ambition!

8.) 11 May 2017 21:16:47
TOMUSA

Butcher and Woods came up to Scotland as the English teams were banned from Europe. There is no chance that player will come to us or Celtic. If he was to go out on loan far bigger teams in bigger leagues would be after him

9.) 11 May 2017 23:26:01
That being the case Bengy, how do you account for Celtic signing the Manchester City guy on a two year loan and also signing Dembele and Sinclair.

Money talks and our problem right now is that we do not appear to have any!

In order to be successful in any business you need to take risks and generally, in soccer, quality players don't come cheap.

I still believe that deals can be done if you have clever people at the top. It is, after all, not that long ago that we signed Buomsong!

10.) 12 May 2017 12:08:43
TOMUSA
Liewells son is in the group at MCFC who decides who goes on loan where

11.) 13 May 2017 00:47:51
butcher was an established england international when he joined rangers from relegated ipswich, i can't think of an established england international nowadays that we would have the slightest chance of signing so our current situation isn't really conparable with back then

12.) 13 May 2017 00:50:38
Celtic's Roberts hasn't even kicked a ball for Man City so it's a bit of a stretch to compare with a guy who was their 2nd choice striker under pellegrini. honestly mate your making yourself look silly, louis moult or liam boyce is more realistic

09 May 2017 16:23:10
Rangers won't get Tammy on loan he's valued at 6m with 4 championship teams chasing him .

Rangers1872B

07 May 2017 22:40:31
Hi fellow bears the transfer budget situation I think if Pedro can't sign at least one player worth 2.7M then the alarm bells should start ringing guys I really don't see where Dave king is going with this but forget the 30M a minute if he wants to atleast challenge then 8M or 10M is required it's 100% fact you simply can't hope for success on freebie players and really cheap fees for players unlesss you get extremely lucky which I doubt .

edd could you run a pole on how much the fans realistically think should be spent? I'd really like to know what's going on here regarding going forward it seems there's no direction or hints as to how the club is going to be number one again no openness from the board and if dk does say something and makes huge claims after he hides in Africa it's going to be interesting when season ticket renewal ramps up .

Rangers1872B

{Ed033's Note - In order to create a poll, i need a question and a number of possible answers (to vote on).

1.) 08 May 2017 01:12:36
Rangers 1872B, you are 100% correct. We have to be signing players that will make a difference. This season is a prime example of what happens when you go for the cheap option!

£10m would help if spent wisely but realistically we need at least twice that for there to be any real hope of challenging for the league.

Unfortunately I do not believe that King is the guy to take us forward. Indeed I doubt there is anyone on the current Board that has the strategic acumen to take the Club forward.

2.) 08 May 2017 08:45:28
It will be around £2-£3m plus any sales which isn't likely to be much

3.) 08 May 2017 09:43:54
I think 5-8 million would put in a reasonable challenge, Pedro is going for better quality after all.

4.) 08 May 2017 09:56:24
I think we need around 30 million to challenge Celtic but I think we will be looking to 4-5 million tops

5.) 08 May 2017 23:57:44
We need quality. We also need quantity of quality The budget won't be there for the latter to happen. Next season won't be a title challenge. We need 3-4 quality signings each of next three windows. There are players there who could potentially do better with better quality in the team.

01 May 2017 01:03:09
Been thinking over the humiliation we've gotten from Celtic this season and I can only think this heaps massive pressure on Mr king to invest heavily or the fans will well and truly turn on him I'm not going to speculate on how much Pedro will get cause I don't know but logically thinking rangers could get into a European spot they will needs extra funds to secure qualification into the group stages and added to that the pressure of competing against Celtic without taking a hammering cause the fans won't put up with that every year so now is the correct time to invest heavily if it's possible .

Rangers1872B

1.) 01 May 2017 06:13:06
please tell me you mean the europa cup.

right now if we made the big boys cup we would be looking at a cricket score.

2.) 01 May 2017 07:51:12
We will be lucky to survive 2 rounds in the Europa league qualifiers and will make next to nothing out of Europe. It will only be a money maker if we get into the group stages and there is no chance of that

There's no chance rangers will turn up at ibrox let's get real Celtic dominated that game today there effort to press the ball and pass it clever is outstanding the Celtic players are fired up and eager to beat teams as much as I hate to say it Celtic are miles infront of rangers I'm not going to kid myself anymore .

Rangers should raid the African players and don't go anywhere near the epl championship but quite happily sell to them . They need a spine like bougherra in defence Davis midfield and cousin upfront you get the idea the rest of the team should be pace 3-4-3 formation like juventus no boys allowed in the team . Aggressive bullying tactics and speed is the way i'd go
