Frank Lampard will be announced with Barry Ferguson and Jodie Morris backroom as I posted on Tuesday.

JB wants FL for commercial reasons and because of the state of recruitment FL is known for giving youth a chance.

Similar to what he did at chelsea with transfer embargo, had to play youth hence Billy Gilmour appearing on Chelsea first team at time

To me the club is an absolute shambles. Being run by people that are clearly clueless football wise and only in it for the commerce.

Cant see us winning at thing for a few years now.

Diablo

1.) 06 Oct 2023 12:25:45
We are a total shambles if true
N will be in trouble for a while too come
We if possible should have went for Clerment
Lampard is all commercial
Has proved nowt as a manager n rangers will fail as his project.

2.) 06 Oct 2023 12:27:14
Lampard is a worse option than beale.

3.) 06 Oct 2023 12:29:18
Is this from a reliable source of yours Diablo ?.

4.) 06 Oct 2023 12:40:29
If it's true about youth then why would only one get on the park last night?

5.) 06 Oct 2023 12:45:20
We get the commercial side right, it pays for the players that get into the team. Celtic run a successful commercial business, and we need to compete there as well as on the park, so this will impact the decision making at board level.

Looks like we need to choose between a club that can survive long-term or a club that wins trophies. I'd prefer we had both. Not sure how long I can go without a big trophy win.

6.) 06 Oct 2023 12:59:06
Colin, a club that can survive long term We turned over 85 million last year!

7.) 06 Oct 2023 13:07:14
Coops John said he had heard Lampard has been offered the job.

This is an appointment I will not get behind I will learn from last time unlike our board. I got behind Beale even tho I new he was not the right manager sorry he wasn’t even a manager.

I honestly don’t understand this decision if true we just go from one disaster to the next.

8.) 06 Oct 2023 13:20:25
Stick Lampard I for one will not go back he was only a good player not a manager.

9.) 06 Oct 2023 13:23:36
DeBoer because Lampard wasn’t the manager last night and the board don’t pick the team.

10.) 06 Oct 2023 14:03:49
1.Lampard, Ferguson will not be at Ibrox (backward step)

2.GVB had the experience but was shafted big time by persons no longer at this club including ex chairman.

3. It has to be and, must be a proven manager who has won things leagues, cups and European experience. Excellent man management skills. and a promise he will be backed in the next window to punt a few players. The sooner people wake up and smell the coffee the back four of Tavernier, Goldson Davies and Barasic need to go and go now.

4. get Sterling on we have Balogun, Soutar. King, Yilmaz and I am sure a couple of more Academy players to cover us till January.

11.) 06 Oct 2023 14:05:14
Yeah blue but you telling me they couldn't tip Davo the wink that long term they wanted to give youth a chance?

12.) 06 Oct 2023 14:08:35
Its believable until you mention barry ferguson. don't want him anywhere near the club. Great player but that's it less said the better.

13.) 06 Oct 2023 14:20:44
Wee Alex, can I get your season ticket then? I'll support the team.

14.) 06 Oct 2023 14:22:59
The Whole team apart from Butland was a disgrace and how Dessers can be considered a striker I never know all he does is get caught offside or miss chances. Drop him and bring in youth at least they would try. As for John Lundstram please please drop him how many missed passes did he do how many times was he caught in possession. The guy is slower than me and is woeful. Where was our captain nowhere again and for Goldson how many times in important games does he switch off and get caught out and then looks to blame others. Not good enough. We need a manager who can say you are the weakest link goodbye. Rumours are the dressing room is split well you guess. You have people sitting there that were told your not good enough we are willing to let you go. Guys brought in who would be lucky to make it into a Sunday Pub team, Lammers Dessers, Sima, Lundstram please whoever the next manger is drop these people.

15.) 06 Oct 2023 15:08:52
Blue laudrup your number two is just utter bs gio wasn’t shafted he got backed he just wasn’t a good manager and his tactics were boring AF.

16.) 06 Oct 2023 15:45:19
No chance Lampard absolute nonsense.

17.) 06 Oct 2023 16:16:39
FL is odds on now. Done deal.

18.) 07 Oct 2023 04:13:11
De Boer

That's a non statement. What worries me commercial side is we made turnover of 85 million last year and an operating profit of 5m . Where's all money going?

04 Oct 2023 11:58:08
Frank Lampard is the boards outstanding candidate at this stage.
JB sees the commercial potential with Frank and feels he has a desire to put right his past managerial exploits. He is looking at bringing in Barry Ferguson and Jody Morris as his backroom staff.
Not for me personally. I like McInnis, ex player, good manager and can work with shoe string budgets.

Diablo

1.) 04 Oct 2023 12:04:06
Please don’t Rangers he can’t handle big egos or pressure he’s mediocre at best.

2.) 04 Oct 2023 12:09:57
I'm calling this one as B/ S. if Bennet thinks such a poor manager is the answer then he needs to be removed from his position.

3.) 04 Oct 2023 12:15:24
Actually think Mcinnes would be a shout Diablo. His teams are always very organised. Few fans have concerns, and rightly so, with his record of actually winning things. However that being said, we are desperately in need of a steady hand. An organiser and a motivator.

4.) 04 Oct 2023 12:21:30
I know I'm in the minority, but I think Lampard would do very well.

5.) 04 Oct 2023 12:23:50
Lampard ain’t the answer but to then come and mention McInnes nope he is kit right either.

6.) 04 Oct 2023 12:29:22
There's nothing "outstanding" about Lampard's managerial capabilities.
If, and I stress, If, Bisgrove is putting "commercial potential" before everything else, then he can take his smarmy wee face, and dodgy barnet, and get t f*#@k!

7.) 04 Oct 2023 12:34:04
No chance Lampard gets it. All the noise will be coming from his camp not ours.

8.) 04 Oct 2023 12:39:27
Don`t want McInnes anywhere near the club, his record of winning things is one league cup with the sheep . Defensive and boring and a guy who when we were out the league was quite happy to lose every game to Celtic . His record against them with the "third force" is appalling but he was happy with it.

9.) 04 Oct 2023 12:42:16
I also think McInnes is a good shout. I feel the rest of the Managers mentioned are Journey Men. If they do well they will be off to bigger clubs with bigger budgets.
Where as McInnes will bring more stability to the Club in the longterm if he does good.
He’s Scottish he knows the league and he was Walters choice. I think it’s worth a punt!

10.) 04 Oct 2023 12:45:57
IF this is where the board are going then they're so out of touch with what we need. And I don't see what qualifies Barry Ferguson to be involved in any coaching role at the club. We need a calm but assertive, experienced head.

11.) 04 Oct 2023 13:04:10
Got to be phillipe Clement, for me out all the candidates he has shown how to win and not at one club.

12.) 04 Oct 2023 13:11:20
Heard Lampards out of the running heard anything John?

13.) 04 Oct 2023 13:16:40
? ? Ano there rumours but come on man.

14.) 04 Oct 2023 13:24:01
No thanks to Mcinnes or Lampard and no thanks to Barry Ferguson in any coaching role it’s out of the frying pan and into the fire.

15.) 04 Oct 2023 13:34:57
My opinion if you knock back our club once then twice isn’t an option.

16.) 04 Oct 2023 13:35:39
Lampard nope McInnes Hell no I honestly don’t understand why anyone would want him.

Let’s be honest we don’t work on a shoestring budget teams like mwell killie and st mirren are a shoestring budget.

17.) 04 Oct 2023 13:36:49
Super frankie lampard fingers crossed.

18.) 04 Oct 2023 13:50:44
I’m a season ticket holder I for one don’t want Lampard at ibrox.

19.) 04 Oct 2023 14:32:34
Only way I would take mcinnes is if he was assistant manager to a foreign manager just don’t see him battling it out with Brenda if he was our manager.

20.) 04 Oct 2023 14:39:36
Lampard is a terrible step backwards
He can't handle the cauldron
Won nowt
It's a big name
Small manager.

21.) 04 Oct 2023 15:17:15
Ask killie fans what they think of McInnis and you won't get a nice answer even with wins over both rangers and Celtic.

22.) 04 Oct 2023 15:22:57
Awful just awful.

23.) 04 Oct 2023 15:43:32
55 I wrote elsewhere a red herring.

24.) 04 Oct 2023 15:44:48
Gallardo is the number one option if he would come.

25.) 04 Oct 2023 15:45:10
For me we need to go all out think big, what will cost a lot of money, but I think  marcello gallardo would be great, the mob at the other side of the city splash cash on bringing Brendan Rodgers in, we need to do the same.

26.) 04 Oct 2023 15:49:39
Del McInnis is my choice. Knows the league, can work on a budget he would be happy with. Knows what's needed. My concern is the pkayers we bought are utter garbabe bar Butland. Butland should be captain!

I think they will choose Lampard from what I have been told. JB knows Frank and commercially he is rubbing his hands as he sees money maker with his close ties to Chelsea and City group. Will be in situ start of Interntional break. can't leave it any longer or league will be well over.

27.) 04 Oct 2023 16:25:59
I hope there is someone coming out of left field, as so far I am not in the least motivated by any of the names quoted aas' favourites '

28.) 04 Oct 2023 16:42:54
Derek Mcinnes isn't in my top 3 for our manager's job but i always remember the late, great walter smith saying how highly he rated mcinnes as a manager and seen a future rangers manager in him ?.

29.) 04 Oct 2023 17:42:19
Ferguson and Morris ?Christ! ? the brain trust.

30.) 04 Oct 2023 17:55:41
McInnes isn't in my top 100, he is a totally hopeless manager. One league cup, happy to play second fiddle to Celtic when we were out of the league, the guy is a serial loser. Is that the calibre of manager that Nisgrove and Bennett really want at our Club.
We have to go for a winner, someone that oozes quality and charisma, not a second rate manager like McInnes.

31.) 04 Oct 2023 21:08:13
Maybe we are all confused, maybe McInnes is wanted as the new kit man.

Well done Scotland on officially qualifying in Pot 3. Jack played well last night but cannot see him making the cut for the Euros. I do not think any of our players will and that will be a shame.
I am still gutted we never bid for Lewis Ferguson. The lad is magic!

Diablo

1.) 20 Nov 2023 12:51:22
Jack will be there, he is mctominays back up.

2.) 20 Nov 2023 13:15:01
I take it you are not basing the fact that Ferguson is magic on last nights showing. Jack was on for half the time and was on the ball and played more passes. Apart from a weak header never noticed Ferguson at all.

3.) 20 Nov 2023 13:23:42
I'm just chuffed we're there. Now I've got the perfect excuse for a wee ttrip to Germany. Cologne or Munich would be the icing on the cake!

4.) 20 Nov 2023 14:20:25
Is the squad not smaller for finals?

I wouldn't count on jack getting a place

Gun. Clark Kelly, .3

Tierney Robertson Patterson Hendry McKenna Taylor hickey porteus cooper souttar .10

Mctominay mcginn gilmour Christie McGregor Armstrong mclean .7

Dykes Adams shankland.3

23 man squad

And that's not even including likes of Ferguson who could have a big move rumour juventus keen

The possibility Clarke looking at Harvey Barnes livramento and boy Anderson at Newcastle.

5.) 20 Nov 2023 14:24:57
Point being I think jack's chances are slim Clarke has never really rated him

I wonder why ?.

6.) 20 Nov 2023 15:17:21
I think the last two games have shown that when everyone is fit and available then Scotland have a team that can compete and with luck may even qualify out a group stage for the first time (depending on who we are drawn with) . But if a couple don’t make it due to injury we will struggle. Right now I see the following being of standard: GK, Gunn. Defence, Hickey Patterson Porteous Hendry Soutar Tierney Robertson. Midfield, McTomminy McGregor McGinn Gilmour Jack Armstrong Christie (Ferguson at a push but to be honest not seen anything from him in a Scotland jersey yet) Forwards, Adams Dykes (not that he’s a ‘quality player’ but he does a job for Scotland when on form) . That’s only 18 players, the rest currently are squad fillers and in my opinion aren’t good enough to replace those mentioned if any of them are missing. With any luck maybe a couple of others might decide to pitch up for Scotland before next summer (Barnes, Gordon, Anderson Livarimento…. At least a couple have Scottish sounding names! ?)

7.) 20 Nov 2023 17:06:13
Im not so sure. We can just compete with a team like Norway, we are miles of the top teams like France, Eng, Spain etc. Sco are Prob 2 or 3 players short of a good side. We have no quality in the final 3rd and not much creativity from the middle. i'm just going to enjoy us being there.

Last 5 games W=0 L=3 D=2 GF=7 GA=14 GD=-7.

8.) 20 Nov 2023 20:06:15
Gofor we don’t need to take Taylor as we have KT robertson and hickey can all left back. Tho I do agree Jack will be lucky to get in unfortunately but suits rangers well that’s if they give him a new deal.

9.) 20 Nov 2023 20:42:01
Tjbb I kinda agree but should always look to qualify aim high.

16 Oct 2023 04:54:41
Happy with appointment. Now we need to sort recruitment and the board otherwise we could get Pep in and still win nothing.
Its a good step but I feel the club is rotten under current regime.

Diablo

1.) 16 Oct 2023 05:18:41
Diablo, do you not think both bennett and bisgrove are good at their jobs mate ? I most certainly do and think both will do very good jobs at rangers ?So who do you reckon is rotten and needing changed under the current regime my friend ?.

2.) 16 Oct 2023 05:31:41
Only time will tel sirwalt.

3.) 16 Oct 2023 07:56:18
Some fans don’t deserve our board who constantly dip in.

4.) 16 Oct 2023 08:33:29
Dear dear Diablo? I wonder about this post and ones like it ?why at this time?
Is this just mischievous ?.

5.) 16 Oct 2023 08:36:50
John not a single board member will lose money out of rangers in the long run and you know that stop acting like the board wear capes.

6.) 16 Oct 2023 08:41:46
Really don’t think some of our fans have a clue what’s going on? For starters the majority of the board HAVE been changed over just the last few months, so are you wanting them all changed again? If so please say why? What is it that the current board has done / is doing that is so terrible. It’s always the same, if the team isn’t performing the scatter gun comes out and some folk want the whole club ripped up and started again.

7.) 16 Oct 2023 08:45:52
The more I read about Clemente playing and management history the more I think Rangers made a coup. I had never really heard of this guy. He seems the real deal ok, time will tell of course, as I thought GVB was the man, but I was wrong on that occasion?

8.) 16 Oct 2023 08:57:00
I'm more worried about how they let Beale sign the players he did rather than question what was happening. Looks like we have a board full of good businessmen who lack football knowledge, hence the reason Souness was asked to assist with this appointment.

9.) 16 Oct 2023 09:03:58
Diablo, what are you talking about?
We've changed the board in recent times and bisgrove is highly sought after, I think they've handled this whole process in a very professional way.

10.) 16 Oct 2023 09:13:51
We have made a tremendous appointment this time around under our current newly in place board
Let’s give the manager time and the board our backing and see where we can go
Think the tide will. Is turn with this appointment and we will once again start moving forwards as I feel we have stood still for a couple seasons
think the Board have acted swiftly on Beale and brought in a great appointment
things will only get better trust me

This new guy needs a good amount of time to get rid of the players who are holding us back he will bring in some young raw talent along with experience and we will move forwards club as a whole

going to try get a few games in after the new year is past and will be looking to get more games in goi g forward now as haven’t been in a position to do so in a long long time through various personal family circumstances

Hopefully won’t be long I’ll be shouting and singing from the stands for a new look rangers under Phillip clement

As Gerrard once said,

Let’s go ??.

11.) 16 Oct 2023 09:15:48
Diablo. so the board did a good thing by getting Clement in and your argument is they supported the last manager beadle and cut their cloth. Is that not what a board should do?

12.) 16 Oct 2023 09:53:16
RFC u may be correct, however without the board we would be sunk or gone

RFC u know what, u stop rubbish people who saved the club. I’ll decide who I support, have u ever sat face to face with the men who put in millions.

Gers 78 there is a bit off me who would love fox in and Ashley back.

13.) 16 Oct 2023 10:48:11
Carrick out of who was available to us at the time he is definitely one of three who I'd have picked and one of my top three was Gallardo who was never coming anyway. I'm delighted we have now a manager who knows how to win leagues and cuts and was also a successful player. How he gets a tune out of our squad will be a massive task. Patience will be required.

14.) 16 Oct 2023 10:49:45
Too right John. Some of fans, well a vast majority seem to have this sense of entitlement and take the board for granted.

15.) 16 Oct 2023 10:50:40
The guys like Bisgrove and Bennett have made a massive impact on the business side of the club. Yes they f*cked up, on the football side, with the Beale saga, but getting Souness involved for the recruitment of the new guy shows they are wanting to put things right. I think the future looks bright. Only time will tell.

16.) 16 Oct 2023 11:01:36
John you support a DoF who has 5 drink driving offenses against him but didn't want to sign Tom Lawrence for similar offenses. I find this very strange.

17.) 16 Oct 2023 11:52:45
Absolutely different crimes, Lawrence left a man seriously injured, who the doctors said could have died

How far was the drinker over limit, his club see fit not to sack him.

18.) 16 Oct 2023 12:14:55
Gd god it gets worse here.
Ye all said Beale amazing.
Give the guy till Xmas see if he is any gd. As the players he has now are lazy he will want runners if his philosophy is hard pressing attacking football.

Rangers defence will need changed. As Tav and borna are attacking footballer. So the strikers will need to be one step ahead and ready. But so far striker not doing it.

19.) 16 Oct 2023 12:57:20
You go behind the wheel drunk you are putting the public at danger. The guy has been caught 5 times so how many times has he done it that he never got caught.

20.) 16 Oct 2023 13:01:56
Superb Andy you seem really upset with Rangers tremendous appointment. ?.

06 Oct 2023 01:12:23
Team were pathetic last night. These players shiuld have gave everything to showcase to the new manager coming in that he has the tooks to work with. It was the opposite. Tav was rudderless as was whole team bar Butland. Embarrassing.
My concern any potential manager will look at the situation and ask hinself this
1. Can I get a tune out of this squad?
2. At best I will have 8 or 9 games then the fans will be all over me screaming for change
3. They have had 9 managers/ interm managers in 10 years
4. Can I nake this work?

I honestly do not think we will attract a top level manager. We will end up with Del MnInnis. Steady ship and be hard to beat.

Limmasol result is up there with obe of worst results in our history. Their while squad cost 2.5 million abd higest wage 2k a week

Shocking. Board beed to take responsibility for theur shocking desicions. MB appointment has knocked us back 5 years. The other mob will get Champions League next year. Min 60 mill. That when they up level of recruitment and leave ys trailing
We need a Dermot Desmond and guys who know football on the board.
This us not good enough
This is our money they are wasting!

Diablo

1.) 06 Oct 2023 02:30:16
Agree beales done some damage wasted millions got rid of good players set us back years need a miracle what a messtt get.

2.) 06 Oct 2023 03:13:22
I'm afraid Beale would have faired no worse. Taken our chances v Aberdeen he'd still be here. Only sima and Butland worth a short in that team. 5 of those players need to go. Worst team I've seen in 50 years.

05 Oct 2023 10:41:40
Watched Davis and Tav interview. Tav looked as pumped as a flat tyre for this game. Came across like no captian.
Davis was boring and seems to nice. Not for me long term or even meduim term. Suppose its the results that count.

Need new manager and new captain asap I say!

Diablo

1.) 05 Oct 2023 11:51:53
Diablo, I saw the same interview, Steven Davis was calm, relaxed and answered the questions put by the press quite well, he didn’t come across as boring . As for Tav he looked very uncomfortable something doesn’t seem right with him, he looked shattered. I will support him as a our captain but he needs to help himself, the team will be looking to him to lead them . Mon The Gers ???.

2.) 05 Oct 2023 12:02:25
Brummie I don’t know what some fans expect Davis to come out like ? do they want him being angry and screaming in a press conference ?.

3.) 05 Oct 2023 12:29:47
Storm, 100% agree, Steve Davis had a calm head on the pitch as a player, so unless they start feeding him raw steak, he’ll stay calm in the dugout.

4.) 05 Oct 2023 14:42:14
Boring? I think the words you're looking for are calm, assured and professional - just as he was on the pitch - but he definitely has passion for this club as well.

Whatever the result tonight he should be commended for stepping up.

The desision to appoint FL was done a few weeks ago. Board have to be seen as doing due dilligence.

He was sounded out and package was agreed. Ferguson and Jodie Morris are the backroom team.
