The board backing Rohl might not be popular with everyone but for me it's the right thing to do and they have acknowledged the real issue in my opinion and that is recruitment.

And this summers rebuild is huge considering the potential turnover of players.
Last summers business:

Cameron - out on loan
Aarons - loan
Rothwell - gone
Cornelius - loan
Djiga - loan
Moore - loan
Meghoma - loan
Gassama
Fernandez
Chermiti
Miovski
Antman
Aasgaard

13 signings last summer, I'd say 6 of them get pass marks, 2 of which are on loan and returning to their clubs. less than 50% success rate, less than 30% if you take out the loans.

Then we look to the January window

Rommens
Naderi
Chukwuani
Skov Olsen

I'd argue 3 of the 4 have been positive signings, Skov Olsen the only disappointment but returning to his parent club. A better success rate.

For me, it's blatantly obvious that recruitment must be better and spending large sums of money doesn't guarantee better success. Examples can include Antman, Aasgaard, expensive loan fees and wages of Cornelius, Aarons & Rothwell.

Leaders are evidently required coupled with some homegrown players that already understand the culture and environment at Rangers & Scottish football as a whole.
Given the loanees returning to their clubs, Tavernier contract expiring and hopefully a few more outgoings, significant re-investment will be expected & required

Wouldn't say Chuckwuani has set the world alight and Naderi has been injured a lot. So, to me only one has been a success.

Rommens has missed as many games through injury like Naderi, quality player though.

Good post, Trueblue. Personally, I've been disappointed with Chuckwani. He's had a few good moments, but hasn't been very good overall, and he doesn't seem very fit and disappears in the second halves of games. His ball recovery can be decent, but he does very little with the ball and always takes the easy pass to the side or back.

It's still early days though, so I'm not writing him off yet, but at the moment I wouldn't say he's better than Barron. We desperately need a midfielder that can control the tempo of the game for us.

Agree, Orange, think Chuk has been pretty poor.
