Re: James Tavernier personally I don't think we should keep him on unless it's as back up and on vastly reduced terms as when all is said and done he has been a good servant to the club I never regarded him as club captain material and he's presided as skipper over most of the last 11 seasons where we have not won enough silverware plain and simple and I also found he went missing on the park too many times and also off the park when the criticism was coming our way not what I think a skipper should be doing.

But like I've said he has served the club well for what he cost initially and scored many an important goal, but if we were to keep him it should only be as backup on vastly reduced wages and the captaincy should be given to someone else and he's been her the required length of time so the club should also do the right thing and grant him a testimonial whether he stays or goes.

But when I read that he'd said in an interview he thinks he has another 4 years left in his legs that did scare me a bit thinking he could be here longer But whatever happens I can just say thanks for the memories of the invincible season and that crazy Europa league run which for me has to have been his stand out moments in a Rangers top ??

The reason we never won anything wasn't because we had Tav in the team. It was down to the fact we had mediocre players around him or managers that couldn't handle the job.
Still say Tav one of our best ever purchases.

O for a younger version of Tav. He'd have got into just about every squad I can remember. Unfortunately, he came at the wrong time in our history, or he'd be more regarded along with our legends.

I don't know how James Forrest can sit as an impact player for a decade and some fans think we should be getting rid of Tav.

The reality is he plays too much and that's why they want him gone, but why does he play too much? One step too many for them.

He's been fine all season, they expect far too much. He should be the next James Forrest. Why would you lose that experience and club knowledge?

Once certain fans decide they don't like someone, they never change their mind.

Tav is a club legend.

Sixteen, Tavernier has 20 goal contributions this season.

Did Tavernier miss the penalty in that European final? Why blame that man for every loss? I don't get it.
