Fully expecting some negativity to flow under this post, however, did anyone else feel that we missed Tavernier's deliveries from set pieces on Sunday?
Sure, Sterling is a better defender and Maeda can't just run past him so he fully deserves his spot at RB. But I felt that from set pieces we really missed Tavernier's delivery, also in the moments after they equalised when we were up the pitch I felt we could've done with his quality.

Interested to hear anyone else's thoughts on this, and if anyone thinks that he could, potentially, be integrated into the side in another role so that we could benefit from his deliveries and shooting ability.

His crossing has been hit and miss for seasons now but when he gets it right he's brilliant

Looking at his stats for the season, James Tavernier has 3 goals from open play, that's nearly 1 goal every 10 games, and 4 assists, that's roughly 1 assist every 7 games, and, considering he takes most free kicks and corner kicks when he plays, that's not much to get excited about, especially when his defending is as poor as it is.

His time is coming to an end, and I don't see the need to shoehorn him into the team somewhere when he's not deemed good enough to start in the position he usually plays. He has been a great signing for us over the years, no doubt about it.

Nope, his free kicks have been poor of late. I'd much rather give Skov a chance to hit some.

Although, I do think Tav should have been brought on v Celtic to shore up that right side vs Toneki, double up with Sterling and Tav.

Tav's goal/assist stats have diminished, perhaps because he is less inclined to hit the bye line in open play.
He can still hit a great dead ball, but we have seen the best of Tav. Dr sees him as a squad player now. To be honest, Sunday illustrated how much we need a new right back, someone like Rommens will do nicely thanks.

It did show that blaming Tav for lack of success at corners and free kicks is not correct, nor is the narrative that he demands to take them all. Simply, he is the best we have got at it. Moore had a great game on Sunday, but his corners were terrible, and we've tried others who, apart from Barron, have not improved our delivery at all.

Skov Olsen may be our best bet going forward, but he's not looked on it so far.
Here's a question, who would have taken a penalty if we got one from that team?

We were pretty poor from set plays at the weekend. If Tav had started, it may have been better, but, overall, for the sake of the team, I would still have Dujon starting every game against them. He seems to have Maeda's number.
