Questions have always been asked of Tav.
Never a leader / captain.
Can't defend.
But here's a question for those who doubt his ability and leadership.
Has he actually played under a 'proper' manager for Rangers until Clement rocked up?
Numerous managers have come and gone.
The quality of his team mates around him have went up and down,
Statistically he is a machine.
431 appearances.
115 goals.
122 assists.
Yes for every quality cross into the box their is a cross that fails to beat the first man or is over hit.
For every wonderful free kick there is a disaster.
There has been numerous defensive errors that have cost us dearly at times.
But on numerous occasions he has been our match winner / saviour.
I don't think any hate Tav. More that some of us have been overly critical of him defensively.
Maybe he will be more appreciated by those of us who doubt him defensively when he wins more trophies under a proper manager in Clement?
Rangers players will always be judged on trophies won.

Some of the stick he’s taken has been harsh. He’s been blamed for goals lost because when he’s been pushing up the park, where the reality is the midfielder should drop in and cover the space he leaves if we lose the ball. And he also doesn’t take it upon himself to go up the park, he’s instructed to do that. His stats are incredible, and we won’t fully appreciate him until he stops playing.

As you and everyone else on here will know, i've always rated and been a big fan of tav, MPH ? It's no coincidence that every rangers manager since we signed tav rates him and have always played him as the rangers no.1 right back ?The guy has incredible figures and is a phenomenal athlete imo ?.

MPH i don’t hate him, he is great going forward you can’t argue with that it’s just some people prefer our defenders to defend that is all and he isn’t a good defender if he was he wouldn’t be at rangers with those stats.


Alloa he gets blamed for goals being up the park and just toddling back that’s my main problem with that.
He should be bursting a gut to get back tho I have noticed a change in that since PC has come in so obviously PC seen a problem with that too.



Yeah all this managers ?‍♂️ Beale was a complete fraud.


I see someone said SG was a proper manager yes he brought us 10 in a row and will be forever grateful but he wasn’t a proper manager let’s be honest his trophy record was piss poor.

The one thing SG and Clement have in common is the players respected them both. SG bringing in Defoe was definitely a massive part in winning 55 as he helped Morelos get to higher levels on and off the pitch he would never have reached without SG and Defoe.

Agreed storm. SG is an apprentice on the grand scale . but one day will be a proper manager . i'm quite sure of that. but what a player that is in no doubt.

The thing is each and every one of us who have stood by him are also aware he is not the best defender. Also try sprinting 80 yards to the opposite bye line then sprinting all the way back. Come on.

Old School, a defender defends and that is not Tavs strong point.
However in todays game his numbers are out of the park.
Unfortunately we didn't lose goals when he went forward, it's when he was supposed to be doing his job as full back.
In that he is wanting ( and I'm being nice)

Tend agree. Maybe getting old but I tend realise FB becoming WB but still prefer FB to defend and Tav ain't that. He can run up down, score goals, but he's not last stand on right and that makes us vulnerable.

I like to think that nobody hates Tav, but more that he is held in higher regard than the rest, so receives more criticism. Honestly, I do! ?.
