See a few folk having a moan about VAR recently

can I just point out was it not us who really wanted it here in Scotland. ?
How many folk said we needed VAR when decisions were going against us domestically and on the European stage?

Now we have it and now we don't want it by sounds of it from posts in reading across the social platforms?

can't have it all it's here and it will swing in roundabouts some decisions will be given our way some won't just have to put up with it now folks.

Only don’t want it because a couple of decisions went against us on sat sima was offside doesn't matter by how much he was offside. They were no complaints when we were getting decisions from it during europa league run.

I don’t think VAR itself is the problem, if it’s used correctly it’s a good tool. VAR in the hands of the mostly incompetent officials in Scotland is another story. The handball rule is getting a bit ridiculous at times as well. I see your point though, we wanted it and now we’re getting it.

I thought it was to help with CLEAR and OBVIOUS errors.
We are now talking about millimetres in offsides and rewriting handball and penalty rules. But at the end of the day the guy in the VAR box seems to be calling the shots.

There is no issue with VAR in theory. In fact, if used as it is meant to be then it should be a very good and useful tool. The issue is, it is only meant to intervene where there has been a ‘clear and obvious’ error by the officials. However what has happened is over zealous operators are over analysing every goal or contentious moment, looking at them in super slow motion from every possible angle in order to try and find something that the ref might of missed, not just to point out things that were blatant and somehow not spotted. The ref is then being told to go and rewatch the incident and the ref then knows if he doesn’t change his mind and go with what the VAR operators are trying to tell him then there’s a good chance he’ll be reprimanded by his bosses. It’s making football an almost non contact sport. If you over analyse virtually every goal you’re likely to find something in the build up that ‘could’ be considered an infringement of some kind, but in the natural flow of the game these sort of things just happen and aren’t necessarily fouls.
There needs to be much stronger guidance given as to when VAR even gets involved. Debatable 50/ 50 incidents shouldn’t even be looked at, only blatant things that the ref has somehow missed.

I seem to recall some VAR decisions going against Celtic last season and as a result VAR was the best thing ever.

It's embarrassing greeting about VAR and using it as an excuse for the teams / management failings.
I've said it before and I'll say it again.
To be able to take the moral high ground on VAR / referee decisions, you need to complain about the ones you get in your favour as much as the ones you don't get.
In regards to the Celtic game we still had 60 minutes to score another goal. We didn't.

As the Sheff Utd boss said, people who know little about football are making in play decisions, so that makes the full set of club owners, directors and associations who know little about football, the ball boys probably know more about the game than the set of fools.

Surely the issue is that VAR in a few cases is not giving the correct decision.
I. E. Roofes goal against Celtic. However Rangers did have plenty of time to over come it so its not really a good excuse.

Had VAR not been in place then Rangers would not have gotten to the Europa final either.

VAR is here to stay, so get used to it . Some Monday mornings we’ll be on here saying “we got lucky with that one” or “ thank god for VAR”. Swings and roundabouts.

VAR that makes incorrect decisions isn’t something anybody wants. We want correct decisions.

Rangers have had two perfectly good goals ruled out due to VAR. Morelos last season against Celtic, and Roofe this season against Celtic. Both incidents made it on to Sky Sports ref watch, and both were called as incorrect decisions by the top refs down South. They were shocking decisions that cost Rangers in big games.

Correct MPH.

Bar72 there is no clear and obvious with offside you are either off or you are not plain and simple some just don’t get it. They are trialing in a couple of leagues that there needs to be clear daylight from the attacker and defender that may come in the next year or two.
