If/ when a deal is officially confirmed that we've signed the young turkish left back ridvan yilmaz, do we think fellow bears that gio will make him his no.1 left back immediately ?I know it's a lot of money we're shelling out for yilmaz to sit on the bench but surely borna deserves to keep the left back jersey atm, as he's in possession of it and back to form and playing well ? What's everyone's thoughts on here regarding this ie. will it be a rotational horses for courses between barisic and yilmaz or will borna be our first choice left back meantime or will gio make yilmaz his first choice left back immediately if he signs?
Can you run a poll on this ED please ?
My poll reading if yilmaz signs ie will barisic remain rangers first choice left back, will yilmaz be the new rangers first choice left back or will it be rotational and a bit of both ?Thanks ED and as always very much appreciated pal?.

I reckon BB will start against Livi, after that it’s down to who’s trained harder and who’s in better form. We can’t have any player walking into the team in any position. Competition for places is a must, if your not performing your benched.

Wr can't spend 5m on a player to sit on bench imo.

As long as he is fit he will be no1 no chance we are spending that money for Barasic to be no1.

Barasic will probably start till the young boy finds his feet.

Walter give the kid a month. He will be in team. Borna will play against Belgiums imo.

I agree Dado, competition for berth is healthy.

Gio looking for FBs with lots of energy, Barasic for me is losing his legs a bit.

Barisic will start the season until Yilmaz is ready, if and when he signs. Then it's all down to form and who the manager thinks is the better option. Fairly obvious, really.

Borna will slowly bit surely phase out to 2nd choice. Werw not spending that money on a 2nd choice LB.

If he joins he will start as a sub for few games before taking over as first choice.

Agreed paul, our most expensive transfer in years won't be second choice.

The signing of yilmaz could also spur borna on to consistent quality levels, as we all know he's got in his locker ?So if borna has the jersey and playing out of his skin of course it's feesible that yilmaz a potential £5.5million signing could be on the bench as borna's understudy for as long as borna is performing to a very high level ?.

I think it depends on how the young man adjusts to his new surroundings and, importantly, how he performs in training. He looks like a talented player and should, on first impressions, be ahead of Borna but he has to deliver the goods to get in.

Borna is as reliable as a 1980s Skoda. Had his arse handed to him more than once by SPL players. Served us well but the reality is we are moving forward and improving. Zero room for sentiment.

Coops it’s amazing your love for borna when he has had a good 18 months and the rest mediocre.

I just always get the feeling there is a mistake in borna that will cost us, especially in big games. I would reckon the new kid will be 1st choice.
