Good morning bears. With the recent speculation surrounding our gaffer i thought i’d ask who everyone’s preference would be once Gerrard does eventually leave? I’m struggling to draw a shortlist of potential replacements. Van Bronkhorst? Gattuso? Jack Ross? Kevin Thompson? Neil McCann? Callum Davidson? Frank lampard? Or one of the DeBoer twins? It’s difficult to choose from that list. Or could Eddie Howe decide to accept an offer from a big club 🤣.

If/ when steven gerrard does eventually leave rangers, i would like our management team to be gio van bronckhorst, neil mccann and kevin thomson👍.

It would be great if eddie Howe came and won everything let celtic see what they missed out on.

Gers all my life he says management team.
I’d go Defoe mcAnn Thomson as management team.

McCann and Thomson. Lol. Heard it all now.

Coop I’m with you and think I’d prefer gio. I’d like to see kevin Thompson make his way into the rangers hot seat but think it’s still too early for him. With regards to McCann every time I hear him on rangers tv he seems very likeable and knowledgeable so think he could be a good number 2 to Thompson. Having said that how excitable would it be if we managed to get the 2 de boers as our management team. Having played for Barcelona they would have a wealth of knowledge and having come through the ranks at Ajax would imagine that they would be willing to give youth a chance.

Not keen on de boers
Would rather Thompson got more experience but think he’s got great potential
McCann maybe as a number 2
Not sure regarding gattuso or gio
Think frank could do a good job.

Broxi bear ask crystal palace fans what they think of frank de boer one of the worst premier league managers ever never won a game.

I think he only got a few games to be fair Mark?

Graham Potter well quoted but doubt he would come up here. You could well see Gary Mac staying on if Stevie goes.

As do you just come on here and rubbish viewpoint, I’ve looked back u actually contribute nothing, who would u make manager, what players would u sell or buy.

One off your posts u slagged appoint gerrard rubbish Beale and McAllister is this till view.

Yes seeker i think it was 5 also he had to step down as the head coach of the dutch national team heavily criticised for his style of play formation etc great player for us but not good enough to be our manager imo.

19 Oct 2021 11:16:11
Really think Mick Beale would do a fantastic job, tactically is the brains and the players all love him. Working with Ross Wilson who would deal with bringing in players (Beale wouldn't have the same draw as Gerrard so the DOF would have a huge job, even more so than now) .

Not sure if Beale would even want it but think its an interesting option.

@John 25. I come on here and say it how it is. Yes SG has stopped 10 in a row but that was last season. This is now. Yes he's on limited budget but he's won one trophy. Yes one trophy. He can't seem to change formation and keeps his favourites in the team. I said from day one judge SG as a manager not the fantastic player he was. I'd sell Morelos if we got good money Aribo.
The person we should try and get imo is Sean Dyce. The job he's done down there is fantastic. Thomson and McCann. What have they done? Is that what we are aiming for? Come on. It's about people opinions and that's mine. Before anyone says yes we are top of the league, yes that's true but we've have been terrible so far apart from the first half on Sat. Knocked out of the champions League easily and well beat in our first 2 Europa games. I think it's time he shook up the team and give some regulars a reality check. Sorry if that's doesn't agree with your views but that's mine.

Thomson is very well respected within ibrox/ Murray park but he needs another managerial move up the ladder first before even coming close to our hot seat. A manager who hasn’t been mentioned is Robbie Neilson and his back room team of bluenoses.

16.) 19 Oct 2021
19 Oct 2021 11:52:58
Here’s hoping that decision doesn’t need to be made until atleast the end of next season.

Sorry guys I’d forgotten about Franks Ill dated spell at palace, could only remember his success at Ajax. Having just googled his managerial career it seems his only success was at Ajax.
With regards to Beale I think he’s one of Gerrards close trusted friends and would look to take him with him were he to go.

Least u come up with a name as, remind me how many trophies docherty has won
Ur entitled to a view which I respect, easy when u try offer a view without rubbish anything others post.

Sean dyche? So a team of anti football hammer throwers 6ft plus players and chuck balls into the box.

19 Oct 2021 13:17:46
Scotty reading all the posts particularly around Thomson and mcann not one indicates either should be the head coach or the manager.
They clearly state they should form part off a team as happens at present with gerrard, then McAllister
Beale, milson, culshaw.
It’s imo not about blue noses it’s what can bring to the party.

My post should say dyche, not docherty, I hate predictive text.

Why are you all obsessed with former players being our next manager surely it’s about getting the best man for the job! And john25 as much as I like your points and your inside information I personally couldn’t see Jermaine Defoe as our next manager, but you clearly have your finger on the pulse when it comes to most things Rangers. For me a Graham Potter would be a great appointment he seems so good tactically his team are always punching above their weight!

Ps highland potter would be a great appointment, would be stunned if he came to Scotland.

28.) 19 Oct 2021
19 Oct 2021 18:20:19
Yeah potter for me but possibly unlikely
never know - might be another surprise appointment out the bag - nobody ever thought it would be Gerrard!

Some other names
Valérien Ismaël
Gio Van bronkhurst
Howe?

thing is these bigger names like potter etc would want to be there own man I reckon and want there own players and would want a decent transfer kitty I would think anyway?

Someone mentioned Robbie Neilson he has done great not sure if it’s what we would want though - not for me anyway but can’t say anything bad he’s done great for what he has had to work with?

McCann and Thomson think would need to go do something else before being apart of a management team
Again that’s just me

There probably some great mangers out in the continent we haven’t even thought about

But right now - Gerrard need to get the team playing well and winning games first and foremost
And play the same record new striker signing in January whether to keep Morelos on his toes or play along side
We just need more options up front for when it’s not happening for current strike force?

29.) 19 Oct 2021
19 Oct 2021 20:25:17
It might seem unlikely now John but he was in the frame before Gerrard and if we end up looking for a new manager then I’d prefer we were looking at that type of guy rather than some looking for experience to then go to the PL the champions league is a massive draw for managers as well as players. And absolutely your entitled to your opinion I always enjoy them even if I don’t agree!

30.) 19 Oct 2021
19 Oct 2021 21:39:49
Beale and keep the current infrastructure.

I love the way McCann talks not sure about anything else although he really could be a great coach. Even his positive personality. Thomson needs to be considered but not for years.

Potter would be potentially brilliant! Strange out of all the names mentioned Gio etc. Potter excites me the most.

By the way it might only be ONE TROPHY it just so happens to be the biggest most important trophy in decades!

#56.

19 Oct 2021 22:23:27
@John25. He's won nothing (Dyce) that I know of but has done a tremendous job keeping Burnley in the Premier League so he would have the contacts. I see Potter being mentioned. That's a great shout I think too.

@Gdog it is the most important one your right but it's also the only one. Not good enough for our club.

32.) 19 Oct 2021
19 Oct 2021 22:29:56
Potter would be an outstanding appointment, however, I think he will go on to bigger things in EPL. If wee Billy has anything to do with it he would carry him up the road on his back lol Billy Reid is a top class coach, I had the pleasure of seeing his coaching up close.

33.) 20 Oct 2021
19 Oct 2021 23:50:05
Sean dyche has built a career on defensive football and being hard to beat. Up here we need to win, imagine him away at Aberdeen hibs etc setting up for a 0-0. No thanks from me.

34.) 20 Oct 2021
20 Oct 2021 07:59:16
Well if you think of Burnley like other SPFL teams in our league. They don't have the budget to compete with the bigger teams. So they do the exact same. Bit unfair comment imo.
