Had a wee debate with some of my mates from the boozer. So I thought I would pose the same questions to you guys. McKenna, Doig, Warner, Shankland the boy from Brighton. These are just some of the names that we are being linked with. Do we think that these players will take Rangers to the next level. Win the league then be competitive in CL. For me I will say that they are all high-level championship, low level Premiership players and as such will not take us to the next levels that our fans demand. Imo the only players that has the potential to move us up a level is the Dutch boy that we are linked with, young with lots of potential, same with young boy from Aberdeen. Shankland at his peak atm at 29 say another year at his current levels, short term fix imo Mckenna the same short term fix. Fabio another short term fix. Imo when are we going to learn we need to be signing players on the upward slope of their careers not failed at another club, with the hope that they can rekindle previous form. Dessers and lammers, Aaron Ramsey. Are just some of names on a long list of failures demanding high wages and offering nothing to our club.

Be kind with your responses as only my opinion and I'm sure many will think the opposite and are happy with the players we are linked with.

Sadly we are in no position to pick players like that because they have normally been snapped up already i'd say there on the up wards to what we already have.

If we sign shankland McKenna and they help us win the league we take in massive cash from champs league this in turn helps us invest in a higher level of player. So although they might not be the standard of player we need to compete in champions league and become dominant in domestic football they will help us on the way to that. Got to see the bigger picture.

Not impressed with McKenna. We desperately need a striker. We need goals with all the chances created. We need a goal scorer. We lack that badly.

It a difficult question with no simple answer. We manger to get to the Europa final and win the league with players that would not be considered top players and now we spend x amount and find ourselves playing catch up. I think you need various factors to work to be come successful. Some cash, a competent manager, CEO, an DOF and a bit of luck, if your missing one of those your second.

High calibre players cost a lot more wages and they can't do that like us.

Unfortunately, top end championship. lower end priemier type players are the type we can afford wages wise, some of these players clubs still expect high fees which are out of our range not sure how you change this even if we had the money the real top players not interested in playing in scotland. if any player done research on coming to scotland, why would they want to be part of league that is so poor.

We can’t afford high calibre of player any more it’s not 90s. Top players cost millions and even players in the middle cost millions. We are shopping for hidden gems or low players that’s where we are at with Scottish football etc….

Hard for us now to attract the type of players that will do well in CL - I’ve always liked the idea of signing best Scottish talent and developing them as more likely to stay, get the league and usually have the dig required for this league - doig Ferguson type of players were options and would have been ideal - more will come up I’m sure there are a few now that could be good to bring in and develop - also like some of the younger players we have brought in Lovelace rice guys of this calibre and other top young players from Europe or UK could eventually become strong players that can do well for us CL Europa - was lucky enough to watch us when gazza laudrup numan woods Wilkins butcher etc etc but those days long gone but we can still build really good teams due to being such a massive club just the league we play in hinders us - feel PC is the man who will build us a strong team that will compete in Europe and win trophies ??????.

If we want to find hidden gems our recruitment need to start looking at different markets.
