Don't know if Rangers fans will be happy with this but the man that told me we were interested in kieran dowell a couple of months back told me yesterday we are definitely interested in jerry Yates from Blackpool seen many championship players regular but never seen Blackpool play for about 5/ 6 years so clueless on him.

I think a poster did say that our signing targets were underwhelming but that’s not to say there not good players because there not house hold names those days are gone now. We’ll just need to trust our Manager on his targets.

Hi John. You said a few weeks back that the players you've heard we're targeting are very underwhelming. With that in mind, and with MB being our manager, how confident are you for next season?
If you factor in that we are about to lose the 2nd best goalie in our history, on top of players like Morelos, Kent, Helander and Davies. Then add to that, we need to find replacements, on par, or better than, the permeability injured Roofe and Jack. Then a replacement to fill the void of S Davis's brilliance. Where in God's name do we find the money to fund that?
Our sellable assets are Davies, Kamara, Hagi, Sakala, Colak, Barisic, Wright and Motondo. Out of that lot, the only ones making 2/ 3 million plus are Kamara, Davies and Hagi. At a push Sakala. All in, I would say there's 15-17m there. So taking that into consideration, is that, and whatever extra is available, enough to replace all the players leaving? And most importantly, enough to compete with the tims?

Yates isn't a bad player but is he what we need to get back to winning leagues as a matter of course, probably not, but we are not going to sign the quality of player that we signed in the Murray Era unless there is a major change at Board level and an influx of funds. At least Yates might fight for the jersey and we pretty much need a total clear out and that is not going to happen overnight.

If we sign that list of players, including rejects from our own academy, we will be looking for a new manager 6 months into the season. Kelly is a terrible goalkeeper and is too small, McLaughlin is a better keeper than him . McKay has no heart which is ironic . We need to learn from bringing in the likes of Wright and Jones that these type of signings are no use.

I've never seen him play, but I think Yates could be in the bracket below underwhelming.
Just checked and it looks like he's under contract until 2024 - so if we do make a move, it may well be for a fee- which makes it even more under-underwhelming.

I have only seen one or two games of Yates doesn’t fill me with confidence to be fair Beale. But everyone needs a chance and dare I say it we need to trust Beale but I have a nagging feeling it ain’t going to work.

If we are indeed looking at about 12 players in and out, I think we'll find that not all of these will be ready made 1st team starters. We just won't have the cash for that.
Yates, for example, has had a decent season with Blackpool, who have struggled. Might be decent back up, but never our no1 striker.
Will probably find a few signings like this.
We're going to struggle to find any players of the quality of Davis and shagger I fear tho.

I will be surprised if Colak is still at Ibrox next season unless Beale is planning to change the way we play and I really hope that we can sell Sakala. He is not the answer.
There are some very good players available on Bosmans, guys like Ben Davies, (that we have been linked with) . It will be interesting to see if we sign any of those players.
In terms of Scottish players, we will be asked to pay over the odds for any that are still under contract and I am not sure which players that are out of contract would be good enough for Rangers.

But we have done this for a while n its clearly not working for us, yeah we can beat dundee n smaller hitters. , BUT WE are clearly struggling against them

The only think about the English market is wages are incredibly high for the standard of player much better bargains to be had in Europe or south America or Asia as we have all seen. got to laugh at us making a mug of ourselves over Whittaker who can't even get a regular game for Swansea and people think we should sign him based on one decent loan spell no wonder we are failing ?.
