I don't know if rumours about Mcinness and Davidson favs for job if gio goes but IF that was true I'd rather keep gio and back him. Am I wrong or disrespecting the 2 names mentioned.

No they should not be considered for the Rangers manager in my opinion, we need far better than them, us fans moan about gvb defensive tactics when Davidson sets up with 5 defenders and a holding midfielder not for me, Mcinness had his chance and he is not a good enough manager to be offered it twice, i still rate gvb as a better manager than both of them, if we win every game until the wc i think he will see the season out, plus the fact in under a year he has got us to a European final won the sc and qualified for the cl that is the way the board will be looking at it i think.

I agree guys if it's between gio, derek mcinnes and callum davidson then without a doubt i'd rather keep gio in place all day long ?I've no doubt anyway that gio will be rangers manager for this full season at least anyway ?.

No chance.

SWSOBE if he's in charge for the rest of the season we'll finish trophless and I'll gauge my eyes own out.

I’m backing Gio regardless of the names mentioned! I find it hard to believe people are wanting him out already such short memories! Do we really want to become one of these clubs moving management teams out on the back of a few bad results? I’m not talking champions league I’m talking domestically, because the CL results while some were worse than I expected we’re just not on that level yet we need more CL money and possibly after a couple more years qualifying and good investment we can hopefully leave our mark on that competition! Domestically if we win our next 4 going into the break and come back with more fit players and hopefully some new additions we can win back the league title and go again in the the worlds most elite footballing competition!

I'd rather bob malcolm and baz took over than those 2.

i’m backing gio, for now, injuries can’t be legislated for, but his tactics have to change, so do kent and morelos,

11.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 10:18:31
I'm 100% behind Gio as he is yet to bring in his players and have a fit squad. If we were going to go down the Scottish manager route I would take Kevin Thomson over the 2 mentioned. In fact I would take Murty backed over the 2 mentioned.

The reality is it doesn’t matter if we back GVB or not the board will decide his fate, the two names mentioned probably tick all the right boxes our board are looking for especially McInness with his knowledge of the league and working with a small budget.

I also back GVB I think certain players need to look in the mirror main culprit’s being Tav, Kent, Lundstrum and Morelos.

We have had so many injuries it’s unreal. We have lost 4 league games in 3 seasons. He has guided us to Champions league riches, a Euro Final a Scottish cup and a league cup semi final.
Let’s go on run to WC and with return of key players and the window open we can have a real go in 2nd half of season.
If we slip up before we stop for WC and board decide to change I would go for underated and available former Burnley Manager who managed to get them to finish 7th on a shoestring and kept them up every season. He gets beat out of his players and Inthink it’s unfair to say Dyche can only play long ball type Football.
He always plays 2 up top too which against low block sides would suit.

Sir Walter you keep saying on loads of different posts that you have no doubt geo will be the manager until at least end of the season you don’t know this as if results and performances don’t improve he won’t see the season out. I’m for geo but he needs to change tactics and personnel he’s been unlucky with injuries I get this and think it’s giving him more time.

15.) 27 Oct 2022
27 oct 2022 11:56:46
ranger, , a league cup semi final, really? i wouldn’t ever include that in a debate, and

sean dyche, i’m sure his politics would rule him out of coming to rangers, i might be wrong but i was told long ago he has same mindset as james mclean,

it’s gio for me, just

and i would love to see big duncan back here as manager some day.

27 Oct 2022 12:02:17
I agree with bellshill I would try Kevin thomson he’s a young hungry manager and always talks about managing rangers one day and never says a bad word about us and could hopefully get the dross we’ve got right now playing a bit.

Gio doesn’t know what the problem is?

Sadly Gio is not the “one”.

He will no doubt drop more points before World Cup break.

Keeping him on means writing off the season - before end of October?

18.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 12:55:25
I love Gio but the reality is that the players are just not performing for him! Whether that is because they don’t like or understand his way of playing, lack of team spirit between players and staff, crisis of confidence….? Who knows! The bottom line is we can’t afford to change an entire squad of players so we need to get someone in who can motivate the ones we have!

19.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 13:19:41
how are any of u backing gio? style of play is awful, team selection is bizarre, fitness levels seem really low?

20.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 13:36:32
BellshillAdd83 - Surely the first step is to bring Thomson in to work with the current management team?

We need to give gio another transfer window. If it doesn't change thereafter, questions about his tenure should be rightly asked.

There's a number of factors affecting results and performance right now. Some of which gio is directly responsible for, but injuries and appropriation of funds, for example, are not.

Comments from folks who were applauding his tactics 6 months ago, now he doesn't know his team. Embarrassing.

SG was a C.V. away from losing his job, and we gave him 3yrs. Let's not be like the glory hunters across the road, who want a manager change 1st bump in the road.

Copland I would take him back on coaching staff now. Listening to him commentating it's clear he not only has great knowledge of the game but a clear passion for Rangers. I know a few people connected with the club and he is held in high regard. I think he would bring that passion we are missing. A lot talk about Ferguson doing the same thing but I personally think Thomson is miles above Barry and his style of coaching would add something to Gio's coaching staff.

23.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 17:19:35
?as it would be a shrewd appointment to the first team coaching staff.
Don’t see any sense in bringing in some of the names who are currently managing in Scotland.

24.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 20:38:54
Heard that about Dyche as well Tom. Would not want him and he definitely 100% wouldn't want us.

25.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 20:59:04
I know thommo and he loves the rangers and his burning ambition is to be manager of glasgow rangers and that's not rumour its fact ?.

26.) 27 Oct 2022
27 Oct 2022 21:01:34
The concern I have over gio is his constant picking same players but I guess injuries don't help also his tactics are not helping why do we need 2 cdm at unrox to livie. I'd change direction but I'd also back him in Jan and give him rest of season if only alternatives are Mcinnes or Davidson 2 names I can't believe would be linked with managers job.

27.) 28 Oct 2022

1 Walter, your opinion really has me scratching my head.

99% of fans are moaning about the number of changes he makes and that he doesn't know his best 11. I agree. Partly injuries, partly form. Given his last seasons achievements, I'd like to see what we do under gio with all his players fit and available.

Don't get me wrong, there's things about gio that I think have to be questioned.
Lack of player effort/ fitness. 4k down last night.
Seems to over think tactics against lesser teams.
Stating after ajax we didn't have enough to complete at cl level

However for me, we can't be changing managers after 1 real window on a decent, but restricted budget.

It doesn't matter who our manager is, we will continue to leak goals until we secure a top quality keeper.
Whether we change Manager or not will do little to get us back to where we should be, league winners every season. The current Board's ambition seemed to stop with winning the league!
Change is needed top to bottom starting with the Board.
