Can’t believe someone on here said Goldson’s been a great servant to the club … he’s one of the weakest CH’s I’ve ever seen in a blue jersey and the fact he commands £40 grand a week is criminal.

He's been a great signing, but his performance levels are sadly starting to dip.

298 games and counting there is no doubt he has been a great servant to Rangers. Whether you rate him as a CH is another question.

When goldson got injured against Liverpool and was out for a good bit we missed him he is a calming influence in our defence good range of passing makes the odd mistake but who doesn’t, trusted by all our managers so far .

Goldson has a lot of good attributes as a defender. He also has some weaknesses.
For a big guy he gets bullied a lot by attackers. If he let's the ball bounce and he's being challenged, he loses a lot of them.
His best attributes for me though are his professional attitude, his willingness to play through injury and the games he misses are few and far between.

Goldson has been a great servant for us, but he has been poor at times this season. He's still our best defender, and we're a better team with him in the side.

Sorry ed strange 4th negative post. I remember watching us playing morton with the C Hs we had then also along with Katic with a record breaking defence getting to european final etc etc main stay of our team always makes me laugh that a striker can make 20 mistakes and score once he's had a magic game a defender can make 99% of tackles headers and have a bad game. Anyway I smell a celtic fan in the previous post.

The past 4-5 managers have constantly let the defence play out from the back … problem is that defence isn’t capable (Souttar possibly can) and yet still Goldson and Tav demand the ball off Butland who then go backwards or pass sideways behind the wing back. It’s constantly bringing on pressure they can’t deal with and we need IMO a LB a RB and another CH as a priority. PC has his work cut out.

Don’t think he’s comparing us to Man City Berkshire… he’s mearly pointing out that their very basic business sense when offering players over 30 ridiculous new contracts is far better than ours. Nobody I repeat nobody wanted Goldson or even showed any interest in him (cause he’s slow, weak and when he jumps ye couldn’t get a fiver under his giant feet) but we offer him 4 years on more money … couldn’t actually make that up ??.
