Heard from a relative a while back that he was instructed by McCoist not to try and beat a man but to get the ball in to Daly as soon as possible. Sums it all up!

DandiMac

1.) Mccoist left the club last year and was there as manager for 3 years prior to that and your relative is just telling you this now?

2.) Laytex, my post was in relation to the one about Fraser Aird further down the page. For some reason it appeared out of sync (possibly my fault). So if you take it in that context, I was only passing on what I was told, that the boy was discouraged from taking on players by having to conform to McCoists one dimensional tactics. But that doesn't take away his own responsibility to improve his skills and fitness.

3.) No probs mate, tbh the only person at rangers a would ask to beat a man is templeton, and he never played as much, so mccoist was probarly spot on with what he was asking

Sad to hear about Sandy Jardine, a True Rangers Legend.
He was without question the most elegant right back I have ever seen. He was a joy to watch and a True Blue.
I was lucky enough to have dinner with him at a Bondholders event many years ago. I was sitting in the presence of one of my heroes and he didn't disappoint. He was great company and a down to earth guy. A real gent and a major loss. R. I. P Sandy. You brought a lot of pleasure into the lives of so many.

1.) I am a celtic fan. sandy jardine was a great opponent. he wore his heart on his sleave.
rip.

2.) Just read on news Sandy Jardine dead.

So sad RIP one of the nicest Rangers players in all my years as a bear.

Memories of the Dryborough Cup game the Dave Cooper keepy up greatest goal ever game.

Anyone that was there will remember as I do seeing Sandy take the ball up near halfway and head to the Rangers end, beating a few celtic players in that silky style he had like a european player before his time, then lashing an unstopable shot to keepers left. Nearly as great a goal as Coops.

I feel so sad like I've lost something of my youth tonight.

That era was my teen years watching Rangers and despite the dominance of celtic and the sheep I still loved the passion we had as a Rangers team.

A prayer to be said on Sunday

I think with the uncertainty surrounding the EGM, it would be prudent for all associations RST, Rangers First, SoS, King, Three Bears etc, to get around the table and work out a strategy for the meeting, so that there will be no disruption. Deter shareholders and other interested parties from attending and ensure only those who matter are there. Perhaps they could steward the event as well to make sure behaviour is impeccable and there are no excuses to cancel. Remember it would not be beyond this board to put in agitators to upset proceedings. I am sure an announcement on the front steps of Ibrox once the meeting was concluded in a fitting manner, would be warmly greeted. circa, "The Rebels have won, The Rats are out".

Need a fans songbook so the old bile battle hymns are things of the past. But that would take a forward looking board willing to take on the challenge and put a business and football plan in place. We also need a team to be proud of so we can start singing again. We need a manager who can motivate the team and we need to jettison the overpaid, over the hill journeymen who masquerade as Rangers players. Big steps that need big hearts and big minds.

Well said SLB. I've said since first game against Malmo that he wouldn't do. Optimistically, I thought starting from scratch in the lower leagues would have allowed him to develop a young vibrant and exciting team that was used to winning by the time we got back to the Premiership. But no, we haven't progressed. Cup exits have been financially disastrous. The football has been dire. There is no apparent youth policy, promising young players are being ignored for journeymen. How many hearts sank when they saw a midfield of Black, Hutton and Smith? Who was shocked when Faure came on? We know they are limited and not match winners. So why did he play them? Especially half fit. What's his legacy going to be? He's left us with no system of play, no forward planning, no pride in our play. Poor players running about with beards. Athletic looking? Rangers standards? I think not! Most of these part time teams look fitter and play better football. We have Duds we will have to pay off to get rid. He's paid a salary beyond his capabilities. If you are a true Ranger Ally, walk away without any lump sum. You will earn our thanks and retain your dignity ( crumbled after karaoke). If not you will never be respected if you turn up at Ibrox in the future. I'm gutted. This to me is worse than Berwick, Annan, Forfar. How much more can we take?

Probably 'living on a prayer' because it's all we've got left with him in charge.
