Afternoon guys, I just want to put a wee post on here, before I get into it I'm not having a go at anyone in particular.

Since PC has come in we haven't lost a game. We have looked resolute and won points that previously we wouldn't. Maybe I'm being nieve however if we are to catch them it was games like the weekend we MUST win. Which we did. Since the weekend I've listened to a few prominent podcasts regarding our club and its been overwhelmingly pessimistic. Now how are we supposed to get the fans onside with the players if we are continually putting the boot in to players and performances?


Was the game a hard watch at times at the weekend? Aye it was, did we get the yhree points and cut the gap? Aye, we did. If the manager wants to create his synergy between players and fans then the fans maybe want to have a change in attitude.

Let's build momentum, let's see where a positive mental attitude from the stands gets us, and maybe these podcasts can have a good go in harvesting that feel good factor?


Sure one or two players need dropping I fully agree with that, however down the years I remember watching teams scrape wins. We won. We closed the gap. And our captain stood up to be counted. He isn't a John Grieg, Mieklejohn or RIchard Gough but he delivered.

I think the podcasts are correct in what they say. There are major problems in the squad and we are papering over the cracks. No team in the world can play as badly as we have week in week out and get away with it. It will catch up with us eventually if the players don’t get the finger out.

Either way we need new players still and need to get rid of the losing culture from certain players.

Think you are both right but would also sum it up best by what manager said

He doesn't have a magic want he will need at least two windows to move people on and bring in his own

Also will need at least 6 months to get across his ideas and improves fitness of squad doesn't happen overnight.

Blue I wholeheartedly disagree mate. I believe that the podcasts also have a duty of responsibility. Listen to words like toxic etc and it seeps in from everywhere.

If the players are to get rid of that losing mentality then so should the fans get rid of the absolute pessimistic commentary. Give it a few weeks of winning games and building momentum.

As copland said. synergy right now is so important. Would genuinely love to see how positive the impact would be of the narrative was tweaked slightly.

I think most fans go to the game and will support the team from the first whistle.
The problem arises for some fans when they see the same players making the same errors with dare I say it a lack of effort doing the basics.
It also doesn’t help that some fans will judge certain players as ‘Beale buys’ and they will get even less leeway from the fans when errors are made.
Synergy can’t be manipulated. Fans support at the start of the game, players respond, fans support even more and so on.

For me, the synergy comes from the attitude of the players. If the players are all working hard and giving everything, silly mistakes will be overlooked and forgiven. How many times (not so much this season) have we seen a player lose the ball and then fight to get it back? When this happens, the roar from the stands is massive. It all starts with effort and application and hard work. If the players do this, the fans will back them. Or am I being naive?

The way I see it is - If the players put in the effort from start to finish in EVERY match they will get plaudits from the stands and sofas- we don't always need Brazilian football to appreciate the basics of effort, workrate and teamwork - the fact is we have papered over cracks in games and just got by - but basic schoolboy errors will only get derision and ultimately boos if it is a regular occurrence- and for a while that has been the case. PC will see all this and has his work cut out to change the culture - old boys network and charlatans who play the sick/ injured card on regular basis - Hopefully we fans and Board will support the man through the dark times to get to that light at end of the tunnel and get/ scout players who WANT to play for our great club and eventually build a team that will give value on the pitch and be valuable for resale off the pitch -the process will be arduous but worth it - this legacy of downward spiral has been since 55 was won - no real direction or ideal scouting from above-we just stuck with and rewarded the same old dross hoping rather than planning for success! Hopefully things will be different now?.

Go for out of the paragraph you quoted the manager Pc only said I don’t have a magic wand . He also did say there would be dips during progress ( meaning defeats) and that the fans need to be resolute and stay on board .
He is a wise man and is preparing for the inevitable usual boo boys.
