Talksport, the sun, the mirror and daily mail all reporting Potter turned us down. Reasons being he wants a team who has or has potential to be champions league team. Our current squad are no where near that so no chance of him coming. Need to look closer to home. Martindale or McInnis.

Surely this story regarding us approaching potter to replace michael beale is total fabrication ? Otherwise why would michael beale still be rangers manager if it was true ?If it were true beale knows the board want to replace him so where does that leave him and our club at this moment in time ? If this is true then surely Beale will hand in his resignation as the board have went behind his back and supposedly approached Potter, which in itself is a comedy act as he would never consider coming to us, if true our Board are making our Club look ridiculous - I stress IF TRUE.

Beale was invited to one of our home games and went to the louden when Gio was under pressure. Nobody can convince me this wasn’t the board testing the fan reaction and he knew he’d be offered the job. Of course the board are sounding out new candidates now. Do you expect us to sack him and have nobody lined up to come in?

Maybe Beale knows this and has agreed to keep going until replacement is found for the good of the club. That’s why the bio pic and the other stuff was deleted but he’s going to stay in charge in meantime.

No Scottish based team will ever be able to compete in the Champions League due to the financial disparity that exists. Rodgers, GVB, Ange, all gave it a crack in recent years and couldn’t lay a glove on teams at that level.

If Potter’s ambition is to manage a team that can make it to the Champions League, but have no realistic way of competing once there, then Scotland is the place for him. Make no mistake, the Champions League is a cash grab exercise for Scottish clubs - Nothing more. If Rangers finish 3rd in a group and parachute down to the Europa League knockouts that would be an ideal situation for us.
