Following on from stigs post, I wanted to give my take on what funds might be available.

Unfortunately, after everything that has happened, there is too much happening around the club that would leave me, and many others to suspect that, there won't be significant funds available to MB this summer?! Directors going, Wilson going (a good thing imo), legal issues, more shares becoming available, half year accounts. The list goes on, and with no sign of clear stability.

If we have to replace Alfie, then realistically, how much do we need to spend? These 1m gems are very few and far between, so don't expect another one like him! Then there's the goalkeeping situation?! How much to replace the 2nd best keeper in Rangers history?! Even if it was Butland on a free, how much wages would we need to pay him?! And then there's every other position that needs sorted?!

Have we got real sellable assets to aid this rebuild? Kamara, Hagi, Davies, Borna or Ridvan, Sakala? How much If we sold them all? 15m -20m? How much of that would go back into the transfer kitty? Is this enough to replace them, plus McGregor, Alfie and Kent, if they all go? Plus, how do you replace the quality of Davis? Yes, he hasn't played for a while, but his quality shone through when we won the league. That's his benchmark, not this season of failure when he's not been present.

Rangers need gutted, top to bottom, and I just don't think we have that sort of money available?! We are not a cash rich club, regardless of what some think!

Me personally let all players out of contact go apart from Morelos if he signs, sell Barasic Hagi Lundstram Kamara Colak Wright 15m easy.

Yes i would keep Morelos that's the only player out of contact i would like signed, but looks like he is moving onto a top league and who can blame him, he will just be hitting his peak years now and i will follow his career.

The club need to be bold, BigBen.
If we can’t finance wholesale changes to the playing squad then we need to trust the youth and the players that want to be here.
Give McCrorie until the end of the season and see if he has what it takes.

Totally agree Big Ben been saying it a while finances is a worry and something really feels off again at the club off in a way that I haven’t felt in a while which isn’t good

also agree with you MPH when will the manager and club give youth a chance and try and develop them properly by giving them minutes alongside the experienced especially not league is gone

who knows how this summer is going to go but it’s going to take more than a summer to set it all out to be back where we would all love to be

God knows why it feels a million miles away again from us and the amount of crap we’re having to take from them across the city and if we fail to beat them next week will be the icing on the cake for them.

MPH, add Tavernier, Lawrence, Lowry, Lovelace and Rice to that lot and you have the makings of a squad. However, we're crying out for quality, marksmanship and leadership to go straight in to that team. We also need an experienced keeper. At least four starters are required, and believe me they are out there, it's up to our scouting network and the management team to identify them and get them in.

What a team that is, drop the captain and top scorer for a young boy and drop our left back for an untried boy from Turkey that looks totally out his depth and play lazy boy Tillman in midfield where he is worse than a man short. Back to competing for third and fourth. Don`t get where the gloom is coming from about cash, last full set of accounts we were £5.9 million in profit with the Aribo and Bassey money still to come. We also have Champions League money to come, which is millions even though we did badly . Celtic boast about the Champions league money, we act as if don`t get any. We need a lot of players replaced so we will need to be creative but big names going frees up bigger wages for those we want to sign.

We need Investors with more ambition than just keeping the lights on which is where I feel we are at the moment. We also need to do better in the transfer market and that raises big questions for me regarding our current Scouts.
I have been critical of Wilson but in hindsight it is clear that he was brought in to sell players and make money in the process, exactly what he did at Southampton and exactly what he will be tasked with doing at Nottingham Forest.
In terms of incoming transfers we certainly could have done better and I believe that we wasted £9m on Davies and Yilmaz; the question is, can we recover that by selling them in the summer.
I believe that we need a significant change in the Boardroom and we need to see some movement if the rumoured investment is to materialise.
We also need upwards of five new players just to stand still and I suspect that we need more depending on how many of our young players are ready to step up from the Lowland League.
With the exception of the two lads signed by Beale there isn't one player in the current squad that I wouldn't sell if the price was right and I would be looking to offload Yilmaz, Davies, Lundstram, Kamara and Sakala, all of whom should generate decent funds to swell Beale's transfer pot.

It isn't just about spending monies on transfer fees, there are a large number of top quality players available on Bosmans, some of them are quoted as having a value in the region of £8 - £10m on an upward projectory.

These are players we should be targeting, signing on fees and a salary to match their quality rather than paying over the odds with one eye on how quickly we can sell them on for a profit. The only objective of anyone at rangers should be winning Trophies starting with the League and then aiming higher. It is doable as was proved when we reached the European Final last Season and with a bit more ambition from the Board with their acquisitions we would have won that trophy!

Mr PH, that is a fair assessment in respect of a first eleven but we still wouldn't have a squad of the appropriate quality.
Personally I would sell Yilmaz if we can recoup the £5m we reputedly spent on him since I believe that there are better left backs that are equally better suited to the SPL that him.
I do feel that we need a quality new keeper but McCrorie could be perfect as backup, (I can't for the life of me understand why he wasn't given the gloves rather than McLaughlin) .
Im equally unsure whether Souttar will be able to stay fit, if he can then we have an excellent centre back but we need better quality back up than Davies.
I fully agree that we need an additional midfield player, a right winger, a top quality striker and I would go so far as to say two strikers because I really don't see Sakala being the answer.
Hopefully, Beale has some names for these positions that are significantly better than what has been mentioned in the Scottish Press.
