All that info public willg . looks like a decent player. I love gio really don't get thinking on some of the players been saying for three years now we loose to many goals from crosses and goldson can't defend crosses on the deck or in the air neither can sands although fair play to the boy (sands) played well the other night, but at 4.7million it's a no for me don't get why we are getting rid of katic or why balogun released if it had been helander I'd say fair enough.

We have a duty of care to big fil and we invested several million on him so the club can't just release him. Katic isn't good enough and balogun was worth a 1 year extension.

one walter, helander will be treated same way everyone else is, except the occasional serious sickness which needs different approaches, helander is same as jack and roofe, constantly injured, we need to be reasonable but we have to do the right thing for rangers, to me that means roofe and helander go asap, i think that will happen one way or another soon.

I just can’t see any advantage in signing balogun again? He’d would appear to be our 5th choice centre half (6th if we include Helander) and would be unlikely to get on the pitch in order to influence a game. When we start talking about 5th or 6th choice then for me it needs to be King rather than balogun.

Darius Olaru is one I really want to see happen. If we make it to the Champions League we’ll have the cash to go get him. If we don’t make it I think we’ll stick with what we’ve got.

Aye keep helander who is injured all the time over katic who is available ? and I get you guys don't like helander but my point on rangers defending crosses still stands balogun last year was pretty much the only reliable defender in the air for us. How many times do we see goldson let ball go past him on deck he is scared to stick foot in because him not taking chance of scoring an og is more important than rangers keeping a clean sheet. Rangers concede goals to easily this has been a problem since tail end of 55.

Dado does it seem right that a guy that was good enough to help your team to a uefa cup final is replaced by souttar, injured helander, sands who couldn't get a game before him last year. Doesn't sound right to me and don't think I'd be paying the 4.7million for sands seems a bit pricey so far he could develope though still being young.

Yeah but my point still stands gofirbigcf2, balogun wouldn’t get new the team to have any influence on the game. Regardless of anybody view of Sands, Gio clearly rates him and wants him playing. With regards to Souttar are we sure he’s injured? I wasn’t sure if the situation with his brother had perhaps caught up with him? Helander is a great defender when fit, I still think we’ll see him playing for Rangers again (or I hope we do)

Think Soutar on compassionate leave, also heard he had C.V., I expect both him and Davies to be winning headers in the middle alongside Goldson, heard them talking on SSB last night that we're now utilising zonal marking and it takes a bit of time to get right but when it does it works. Wasn't sure about Sands but I think he's done pretty well overall, obvs the coaching staff who work with him every day see something in him.

I have watched Katic on many occasions, he was a stand out on many occasions in our team. I have refused to join those jumping on the bandwagon saying that Katic isn't good enough. Utter garbage! The man is a good, solid defender who never let us down.

I just don't get why Katic is leaving!

Because he's poop. He may be great in the air but he's the most rash defender I've ever seen in my life. Game against Sunderland he blundered a pass then to make up for it sprinted 20 yards and almost two footed the guy.

He would get slaughtered in European level.

Back to the original topic, I hope Olaru signs, everything I hear about him is positive.
As for centre backs I am hoping that Davies soon settles in at Centre Back alongside either Goldson or Souttar. I don't rate Sands as a centre back. Defensive midfield perhaps but the question is - is he worth £3.75m or could we get better at that price.
As for our injured players, Roofe doesn't appear interested, Helander is seldom fit, the sooner both are off our books the better. As regards Ryan Jack, he hasn't looked match fit in the games that he has played but at least he is capable of donning a pair of football boots which is more than can be said for Roofe and Helander. Roofe I believe we can a fee for. Helander who I believe is in his last year of contract, I'd rather we agreed a deal and cut our losses unless our Insurers are paying his wages.
