Seeing reports again linking us with xavi symonds. Looks like a cut and paste job from last month tho with nothing new. Amy chance this one true? Would love to see it happen. He's a cracking player. Richer clubs linked but it's about playing time.

His agent Riaola will likely want release clause inserted and may want a big £1m or so to make the deal happen but I think this is a very probable transfer.
I think we will sell Aribo as there are 5 or 6 BPL clubs interested and with only 18 months left in his contract and him leaving last club under freedom of contract now is when we will sell.
If there’s genuine interest even from Villa and Leicester I fully expect £10m minimum plus Ass ins and sell on clause.
Nobody wants to lose their best players half way through season but it would make sense to get huge fee now and replace with Simmons at fraction of cost.

Never heard of him prior to us being apparently linked? Not saying that makes him a bad player, but would rather spend the money on keeping the likes of Aribo, Kamara and Kent at the club.

Only seen bits and pieces and YouTube can make anyone look special but reading up on reviews seems a special talent. Barcelona want him back and Guardiola apparently a big fan. It's just the desire for 1st team football otherwise as well staying at PSG. Don't think he'd be a project either, possibly takes aribo place if and when he leaves.

Aribo, Kent etc are all going to leave soon to progress their careers. Not going to stay at Rangers forever. We need replacements ready for when that happens - sounds like he is a good prospect but think will go to a bigger club than us.

I would hope so John25, I just fear replacing established players with untested kids, however talented they may be. Especially one that is hyped up and will be on big wages. If he doesn't get a game will he throw the toys out the pram? How will his agent react? Will that upset the rest of the squad?
This would be a risky signing in my opinion.

If we signed him I'd back him all the way. However, he's reportedly on £15k a week at PSG also allegedly expects 1st team football at 18. It has alarm bells ringing for me.
I just think he's an unproven expensive gamble but will be delighted to be proved wrong if he does sign.

So we're pinning our hopes on paying someone at least £20k (+ a greedy agent £ millions) who has started 1 game and made 2 substitute appearances?
If we do sign him I really hope it works out otherwise we're left with another Barker on our hands with an agent that causes nothing but trouble.
I stress again, IF we sign him I hope it works and I'll back him to the hilt but there are red flags for me personally and I'd hope given our financial situation that we'd all be concerned at spending huge amounts of money on untested teenagers regardless of their reputation.

Sorry blueat55,i'm totally with stormtrooper and John25 regarding xavi simons mate! He ain't no project if we're lucky enough to be able to sign him🤔He would without question be straight into our first team squad and depending if/ who we sell could get a lot of game time irrespective of how young he is🤔Gio always looks to bring in youth and this kid is certainly good enough👌.
