I said this about souttar as we were signing him and got slaughtered for it he wanders too far forward and is easily turned and does t have the pace to get back also not great at covering his partner. Was all over the place at first Celtic goal watch him gets caught in two minds wether to follow in or hang back his indecision cost us although wasn't mainly his fault. But his short pass back ? Davies deserves a break been reasonably solid until the other day.
Why is it you never see our centre defenders or wing backs blocking crosses it's the same everytime against Celtic and that's why it's kyogo who always getting the goals he just hangs around the edge of 6 yard box and our defenders can't read it.

Shankland has played 3445 minutes and has scored 27 goals, a goal every 127 minutes.
Dessers has played 2591 minutes and has scored 16 goals, a goal every 161 minutes.
As paul said shankland has 3 pens and won't get half the chances that Dessers gets in our team. All the evidence shows that shankland is a better striker.

The point I'm making Dado is that Tav is in the top 10 defenders in history for goals scored. That stat has not been limited to just goals from open play. So I don't see how removing the penalty stat would somehow prove Dessers to be the better striker. You still have to put the ball in the net from a penalty.

Shankland would help us progress imo -albeit he would not be a long term option regarding money back but we need to score on a regular basis over next few seasons if we want to win leagues and am sure the boy would help us there!

1.4 which are on target.
Hearts average 13.7 shots on goal.
Meaning Shankland gets about 27% of those chances.
Dessers averages 3.0 shots per game.
1.4 which are on target.
Rangers average 21.3 shots on goal.
Meaning Dessers gets about 14% of those chances.
I’m not sure why people think Shankland is going to start getting more of those chances?

Shankland penalty conversion rate is 82.86% whereas Dessers penalty conversion rate is 73.33% so I don't think removing the penalty stat would do Dessers any favours in this debate.
Those are very interesting stats MrPotatoHead and I would conclude that Shankland gets into better positions to get the majority of chances.
Also I would bear in mind that we probably commit more players forward into goal scoring areas than Hearts, perhaps tactics could be a factor?
However I think its rather obvious that Shankland is the better striker when we look at the stats and I do agree that we need better than both going forward.

Dessers looks like he needs to try and get more chances but he’s certainly holding his own when compared to Shankland.
Hopefully we’ll get an upgrade on Dessers next season and clearly based on the stats it won’t be Shankland.

Thing about the last game that Clancy reffed at Parkhead and we won, was that we won despite him giving them a penalty for a pull in the box and then not giving us one for the same reason, allowing Edouard to score after handling and refusing to dish out 2nd bookings and red cards which would have reduced them to 8 men. It was the worst display of incompetence or cheating ( pick you own word ) that I have ever seen by a ref in Scotland and that's saying something. He can`t handle the big occasion and we are right up against it with him in their team.
