Had a few looks at the new lads now . The majority look like a decent upgrade. I knew cifuentes was going to be a baller and him and Raskin looks a strong pairing. Glad people have finally come round to Soutar, the boy had a horrendous start both with injury and personal tragedy and I know a lot on here supported him, but there was a lot of outcry of the usual, not good enough or made of glass, could see him being a future captain.
For me Danilo is the main 9, with Dessers slightly behind, when Danilo moved into middle looked sharp there but seen enough little transitions from Dessers to see he's going to be a clever player. I think Dowell brings the shooting from distance element that we've been lacking and gives teams something else to worry about and I might be seeing something different from everybody else but I reckon Sima is a really clever footballer snd alongside Lammers and Cantwell can open up teams, Butland, exactly what you want in a keeper. Imposing and loud, good shot stopper.
I said after the killie game, we needed time to gel and I believe in the manager and squad and just generally how we are being run now. Interesting, that if we get the 5m payment from beating Servette and sell Kamara and possibly a couple of other, we'll have overhauled the squad and not actually spent much, very clever work.

Good post Baz. I also think Balagun has did well since being back and already shown enough to suggest he's ready to step in anytime we need him. Him and Soutter handled big Nouble of Livingston very well as we all know the big fella is a handful.

I think Yilmaz will come good and was nice to see Sterling get some minutes at weekend too. I feel he's a decent RB.

Going back to Sima I was very excited to see him join and after a slow start u can see he carries a threat, particularly at set plays and when game is stretched.

Lammers I knew would be a hit he's got all the tools to have a good career and again always a threat.

Alots been said about Dessers and I would bet anyone he will hit double figures this season and play a big role but I'm with you that Danilo should be deployed through the middle he's a class act and at this time a more confident goalscorer.

Cifuentes is an exciting one too he just oozes class and him and Raskin will run games this season. All in all very happy with the squad so far.

I'd like Dessers on the bench until he settles in. I'd like to see Roofe upside Danilo, think they would score for fun together. Roofe would've had at least 2 in Saturdays game if he started.

Dessers us about two to three weeks behind everyone else fitness wise. He needs games not benching.

Rangers need wins more than Dessers requires minutes at present. It's unthinkable they win the next OF and go 6 ahead and already been to ibrox and Aberdeen. Wins against Ross County and Celtic are a must now after the shambles at kilmarnock.

A very positive post based on very little evidence so far. Lammers, Dessers and Sima look mediocre and how long do we have to wait on Yilmaz coming good . Just like Matonodo having the odd good performance now and then is not enough . They`ve both been here for a year, if they haven`t settled enough to perform well regularly, will they ever?

Haven't seen much from any of this windows signings to excite me tbh, think they're all fairly average at the moment, hoping the they crack on though and improve with playing time.

I didn't mention Yilmaz in the OP wslgers4ever, I respect your right yo an opinion but simply cannot agree that lammers, dessers and sima are or look mediocre, time will tell I suppose.

My apologies Bazbear73 it was follow up poster who mentioned Yilmaz. As for the other three, Lammers has shown a few tricks but created nothing and is never a No 10,Dessers has lumbered through the games, missing chances, miscontrolling the ball and giving it away when he tries to lay it off ( its like having lazy Alfie back ) and Sima has shown 15 minutes when Beale played him wide at last but before that has been terrible, how you can think he loos like a really clever footballer is beyond me, at times he looks like he`s never seen a ball. I hope your optimistic view is proved right but there is nothing that they have done so far to indicate you might be.

Wslgers4ever. no worries, like I said, I welcome well put differing opinions so no problem with your views but I think Sima was very good against us a couple of years ago if I'm right, and even the outrageous high back heel attempt in the killie game is enough to make me think there's a player there. As for dessers, top euro scorer a couple of year back and both him and lammers played in a much better league than ours. There was a wee bit in the first Servette game where Dessers put some great link plays through but nobody read it, I believe when they've played together for longer they'll all be good,
I am a positive thinker so I'll take that and looking forward to your thoughts in a few months.
