To lighten it up a bit for a Fri and on the back of BigBens72 comment. If you grew up in the 70s what's your favourite memory of food. My own are:
Well fired rolls with mashed Banana
Potato Pies
Strawberry tarts
All from McMillan's the bakers Paisley west end, now shut.

Don't know if you remember but kfc used to sell bbq ribs. Used to get them every sat night when I worked with the evening Times as a van boy in albino St before delivering the foitball special to the shops.
Not much meat on them but they were delicious.

Never had a potato pie before, TJBB, but the other 2 were staples of my diet in the 70s and 80s.
We used to have the bakery van come round our streets back in the 70s, and that was just the best as a wee boy. Strawberry tarts were definitely my favourite, followed by an apple turnover.
Alas, the days are long gone, but my God, they were the best!

My first taste of chicken crispy pancakes. Told my mum how much I liked them. That was a big mistake. I was sickened with them.

You're right about the sauce, it was definitely kfc. On west George St at the top of albion St. Right next door to the bookies where I backed aldaniti to win the national. Happy days.

Jessoh I remember when crispy pancakes came on the scene, delish. As far as KFC or fried chicken was concerned nothing happing near the hippy chippy apart from duck AL orange in the local Chinese.

KFC is nothing more than "chicken of the cave", especially if you get it out of the Gallowhill premises.
