1 aspect of our game we need to change immediatly is giving the ball back to macgregor to play long, his pass ratio is honking every game. top class shot stopper but can't pass a ball longer than 20 yards. its the 1 side of gers that can vastly improve just by cutting McGregor out of the passing around the back.

Sorry Davie. Need to disagree. We’ve scored over 50 goals so far, including some building from the back and it’s not like we are conceding goals due to mistakes.
If it isn’t broke don’t try fix it.

McGregor is fine when he can pass it short to the CH's.
It's his distribution when he has to go long himself that is the problem.

Agree Davie, he is a fantastic keeper but not suited to kicking under pressure.
Gave away lots of possession when we were under the cosh with his wayward kicks - second half we created more space so he wasn’t under the same pressure.

Pretty sure that’s why most decent teams play out from the back even when the best long ball keepers go long it’s never guaranteed to go to a teammate especially as none of our midfield or front 3 are big guys but given the manky mob did have us under severe pressure I thought Mcgregor dealt with it very well indeed and was the only real candidate for man of the match.

It was only bad yesterday because celtic weren’t letting us play out from the back I think that was glaringly obvious but hey ho we never have had the problem in any other game this season.

Guys personaly I noticed this about 5 games ago and have kept an eye on it and MacGregor's pass ratio ain't great. it wasnt just yesterday. I'm also saying not to play out of the back I just personaly think cutting macgregor out of the last pass would make our ball retention a lot higher. agreed it's not costing us in games either at the moment but were always striving to be better that's 1 main weakness I've seen that can easily be rectified.

I agree with u Davie, I hate the ball at his feet.
But that’s how SG wants it done, as u say it let’s us retain ball if not hit long.
Most teams want this now., it’s why Chelsea changed keeper, also read article today re Southampton manager saying that’s why Forster was not getting game, but has worked very hard on it for six months
It’s not really Alan’s game, more suited to McLaughlin and mccrorie.

I don't mind playing out from the back, let's just get it the midfield quicker, we actually pay ourselves into a corner at times, happy with results so far though.
