Tillman also wasn’t an obligation he was an option. Again silly statement! He’s signed a contract till 2028. Basically we don’t have the cash now but will pay the fee in the summer. Gives us scope to spend on these positions right now.

Meant to say he was number 10 not he was a 10 although that was his original position until this season where he played more of an 8. He’s a natural 10 though.

I think the tillman deal and the diomande deal are different and diomande is an obligation and the 4 year contract will immediately kick in this summer ?.

Correct Walter! Tillman was an option, no contract was ever signed. Obligation means you must pay the fee in the summer and the contract is already agreed. A lot of clubs use it to get around FFP.

John the 2 deals are different we didn’t have an obligation to buy Tillman, it was an option that Bayern turned down and increased the price. Regarding the number 10, he wore the 10. And regardless, players wear all kinds of numbers. Davis wasn’t a 10. Steve Sidwell at Chelsea famously wore the number 9 as a centre mid.
