Some interesting chat today that's given some insight in to the mentality of the new Management Team.

Barron, deal was agreed in principle and we immediately revoked it when they asked for more money. Chat today was that they are trying to honour the original deal but we're not progressing as PC has questioned the mentality of the player.

McKenna, we spoke to player and agents, were very much interested and were willing to meet the provisional demands - we gave them a deadline to respond and this wasn't met - so we're moving on.

There's are a rumour that a number of the injury prone players have been advised that they no longer have a future as they've not been managing their recovery process sufficiently.

Looks like PC only wants players at the club who are 100% committed to being there.

If this is all true (not doubting you) I have no problem with it. For too long we’ve had injury-prone passengers and players not up to the mentality required at rangers.

Full faith in bad bad bald phil - he clearly has the right mentality and if he doubts a potential incoming player has the commitment/ mentality required we should be moving on.

Thanks EHL apreciate the info mate ??

I think cole McKinnon could do a job for us similar to that of Conor Barron,
We know it’s left centre back we’re looking at but again I’ll say, Lewis mayo is someone we should be looking more at. We have a buy back option and he’s one of best defenders in the league.
I actually prefer him to Souttar. Plays on the right of the defence but as back up to a first pick he’s a great addition.

Also like shankland and Danny Armstrong.
Lennon miller is one od like to sign and loan back for 1 year.

Don’t think we will get miller to be honest stevie we have tried a few times.

There are always these kind of rumours about the injury prone players.

I doubt this is true but if it is well done pc.

Will29, agree 100%.

Also, this is just rumours from some coaching sessions this morning - could be close to the truth, could be miles away from reality.

I only tend to post the rumours from the guys I tend to believe though.

StevieG2 - tend to agree, think our squad should be bolstered by some of the younger squad and some tried and tested SPL players.

That’s very interesting information EHL, it’s about time the management took control. We are Rangers and players shouldn’t be allowed to backtrack with us?

He's trying to create an elite squad, you can clearly see that. He understands what the club demands and it would seem his own demands are on par. Can't wait to see what the future holds because I think he'll take us places.

Mi info which I said last week is we have stepped back from Barron for now on clement say so.

I don’t doubt or have an issue with clement wanting the injury prone players away from us, but I doubt he’s telling them that early January.

The chances are between now and the summer you will need them at some point and by telling them now that they will be away, there's a risk they will down tools. He’s not going to tell Roofe for example that he has no future at the club then ask him to come off the bench and rescue a game for us with a goal.

Based on the current market and the options in our squad, it looks very much like PC is stuck with the majority of what he’s got until the summer. He won’t want to upset anyone within in, he’ll need to utilise them all until he can make changes.

Encouraging if true. The number of injury prone players signed and the number of times that injured players return only to be injured again almost immediately has been a concern for some time.
I'm encouraged by the professionalism of this management team but they will need considerable support from the Board if we are to reach the levels that can be achieved.

Hope we don’t cut our nose off to spite our face with Barron as I think he’d be very good for us. If it is true he won’t be happy with his new agents for pushing for more money.

Fruitbear, from what I gather it's not a blanket approach to all our injured players.

PC appears to be very strict in terms of his application of sports science and the rumour is a number of the injured players have either neglected to follow their recovery plans exactly or have chosen to follow advice from their own fitness teams - for those players, I believe we now have a zero tolerance approach.

Good info mate, as I said I don’t doubt PC will cut the deadwood loose. Just think he will (unfortunately) to work with what’s there until the summer.

It’s good we seem to have a manager that doesn’t take any passengers.

Barron Watson and miller would be some midfield in a few years even if 1or2 make the grade would be money well spent.

Injury prone list not, exhaustive
Roofe
Souttar
Lawrence

So what you’re saying is they are finished at us?

20.) 14 Jan 2024
14 Jan 2024 18:17:00
That’s exactly what he’s saying Ravers! ?

Although Souttar isn’t injured a lot? He’s just bang avg.

21.) 14 Jan 2024
14 Jan 2024 21:19:11
Could add Yimaz and balogun and Jack to that list then?
Maybe Matondo?
Danilo?
Davies.

15 Jan 2024 01:26:51
Players that are out of contract in summer must know there self that they will be leaving, as there has been no offers/ talks of new contracts, so if required to play would you not try your best to attract more interest come summer, unless you have something lined up and you don't want to risk further injuries. we have had a few like that in past.

23.) 15 Jan 2024
15 Jan 2024 01:56:24
Balogun, Jack, Roofe, Mclaughlin, Barisicare all away in 6 months, along with Lundstram unless lunny signs an extension.

would not sell Danilo, Matondo or Yilmaz all young and talented, sort of players we should be keeping, if they can stay fit and hit there best form.

Gofur i reckon your right mate, Don't see much coming from Silva, unless PC can work his magic on the lad and get him scoring again regularly.

24.) 15 Jan 2024
15 Jan 2024 08:34:07
Laudrup lunny will stay imo. so will yilmaz come summer amd u lost me at matondo talented. Bang average. 1 of the highest wages and not really doing a lot needs moved on.

25.) 15 Jan 2024
15 Jan 2024 15:08:35
For me Matondo has had his chance and hasn't taken it. If we could get decent money for him I would gladly take it. Unless he is free from his injuries, (which I suspect is not the case then I would also be looking to move Souttar on if there was any interest.
We need to have players that we can have for a full season, not players that we know are injury prone when we sign them.

I think you can put Clement calling up youth to first team tells you he wants a look at these guys first.

For me it means he wants to try maximise his budget.
