Aribo target for Aston Villa. Hardly an exclusive but if reports are true Gerrard will activate the £10m release clause in due course.
Player due back next week after additional time off due to Internationals.
I'd rather this was concluded sooner rather than later if as is likely we can't tie him down longer term.

but, i can honestly say i cannot remember the last time he was exceptional, which is strange for a 10m player playing in the scottish league.

he may well be correct john, epl requires a massive step up, only mcginn tierney and van dyke that i can think of have been successful really, robertson too, but most are mediocre at best, possibly him and his team do not want any rangers players now, it definitely won’t be kent or alf imo.

If he goes anywhere then I suspect that it will be Crystal Palace and I believe that would be a good move for him. A move to Nottingham Forest is likely to see him in a relegation battle and I just don't see him developing there.

Wouldn't want to see any of our key players going but after the Europa run this year their values may not get any higher. If one was to go would rather it was aribo as long as we spend a bit to bring in some quality.

Aribos head was turned at the African nations cup imo. For some reason players go away on international duty and cone back thinking they are bigger than Rangers. It's happened more than once with Morelos as well.

He definitely went off the boil for a large part of the season. Remember how good he was tho at the start. I don't know if its fatigue or perhaps he wants to go back home but something changed midway through.

Overall he's been a bargain and any sort of return towards the 10mill mark is fantastic.

and i’ve felt that way for long en, just something about his demeanour telling me he wanted away some time ago, and there has been games where he was worse than poor, , always be glad we had him though, he been a great signing overall.

I think £10m for a squad player at Villa who is versatile in a lot of positions who is young and can still
Improve and is rarely injured would appeal to Gerrard.
Only my own opinion btw and like most I think Palace would be a good fit or Brentford where he gets to play more often than not.

He was very good at the AFCON and probably hoped at that point to get a move by the time he came home, but it didn't happen, so he's been a bit off his old self. Good enough to look like he wasn't downing tools ala Glen Kamara, but not the magical self he was pre-Xmas.

If he did he would have bid and got who he wanted

But I don’t rate gerrard as a manager he’s out his depth at villa and is no where near good enough for Liverpool would take years for him to turn it around
Be lucky he’s still at villa come Xmas.

I think the talent in EPL is increasing as is the money and unless the player is potentially very very good ( young ) then most teams in EPL will think they need to look at the top5 leagues for their new players. Not sure Scotland is as appealing as it was for a short spell.

Our players are not young they are now in their mid twenties. With exception to Kent who is slightly younger.

So it’s your Ramsay’s and Paterson’s being looked at where they can be re-trained developed etc. in that clubs way. Mid twenties is relatively old in footballing terms.

I think our players just might not appeal. However it’s still early.

£15 for Buff is terrible money! Terrible management of contracts if this isn’t all tidied up.
