Saw a post mention Road Wallace below and got me thinking. He signed as a free amongst a list of big signings and I bloody loved the wee guy.

Who in your mind has been our best ever bosman/ freebie?

There's been a few Snell, but for me, I'd say Prso. For total monetary value it has to be Bassey, although not quite a free as I'm sure we paid development fee (could be wrong) . Ryan Jack would be right up there If it wasn't for his injury problems. Big Boumsong made us decent money as a free when he decided he wanted out after 6 months. ??.

Boumsong was a strange one. If memory serves me right, he accused someone in hospitality of being racist towards his wife, then he was sold. By all accounts, there was no incident and he was using this as an excuse for wanting away after only 6 months. His move to Newcastle was a disaster. I believe he was voted as one of the worst EPL signings of all time?

Alan Hutton was going nowhere until Sir Walter took charge and was aff to spurs within 2 seasons 7m I'm sure but Cuellar was a brilliant signing at 2m along with Prso.
