RE, Storm. David Silva KDB Salah Henry Berkamp. Interesting debate mate and would enjoy a pint our two discussing it that's what footballs all about. As I was posting the original post I was thinking of such players but what I meant was at their peak did they come to the EPL and yes you are right very subjective on top 10 players, agreed. The players you mention either didn't come at their peak or if they did I wouldn't put them in a top 10 of 30 years, that's why I was trying to narrow it down a bit to make my point. Halland is the only worldy player to grace the EPL IMO but not at his peak prob be off to Real or Barcelona in the next few years. I will start this of as a bit of fun name the top 10 players in the world from say 1992 to now.

Flipping hell that's hard, couldn't get a German in, I would say Michael Ballack was a fine player and came to the EPL at his peak might make a top 30/ 50 list.

Peir papan possibly earlier than 90s great player though lol
What about laudrups?

Could be here all day players in that era were class and there was many where today I would say not so many as there was back in the day?

Gazza has not won enough. I almost put M Laudrup in but the others have won more in general, It is a nightmare so I tried to include at least one major honour internationally to narrow it down. Kaka is one of my favourite players but didn't want to fill it full of Brazilians, Rivaldo missed out because of his dive LOL. Its very hard and on reflection we have been very privileged to watch some of these great players and wouldn't argue with anyone's list. Some of the players mentioned just brings a smile to your face.

That’s why I said it’s subjective mate there has been a few world class players in epl over the years tho I think a lot didn’t come because of climate, I remember that Man U were close to signing Ronaldinho the Ed may know better than me then Barcelona came in.

Totally agree Storm, climate will play a part maybe also language. Finances have changed too if the EPL had the buying power it has now back in the 90s we would have seen more of the so called gallactacos in Eng not all but some. let's change the subject for a mo and what team apart from Rangers would you aspire to play for if you had the world at your feet. Barcelona for me. Also wish someone would bring back C4 Italian football that was a rare treat back in the day.

I just have to Schweinsteiger in there. Class player and did at every level. Great thread, but we could go on forever so many class players through the years.
