Not rangers related but just reading about Newcastles potential takeover will be leathel guys worth 320bn they will be richer than man City psg and Chelsea combined scary money but again another club who will end up inflating prices and wages down south and all across the world if this takeover happens just far to much money in football these days they will end up throwing money at players to sign for them and clubs to accept the bid for players just wondering everyone's opinions on this out of interest.

Just highlights what I posted the other day way down on banter page 3 at the momentSm85 mate.

No longer about the football as a game it's a money game to buy trophies now.

Another thing, Ashley another few million in his greedy coffers.

Oh I wish we could go back to only teams from their own country allowed to play in professional football clubs.

Cheers guys.

Football has gone mad. Countries with shocking human rights histories buying up teams. It's moving further and further away from the supporters every year. I keep thinking that the bubble must burst but I keep being proven wrong. Dread to think where it will end up. Give me back my turnstiles and macaroon bars . 🙈.

People buying trophies isn’t a new thing in football rangers and celtic have done it just not to the scale it is now obviously.

It’s more to do with the amount of money involved rather than buying trophies. Look at the wages some of these footballers are on, it’s absolutely sickening but it’s mugs like me that pay £100 a month for sky that funds it. Back in the day old firm players were paid probably double the wages of your average working man. Look at the salaries in the EPL, some bang average players getting 150k a week. That’s before you look at the top earners.

In Scotland, outwith the old firm there’s no player that can retire from playing football and not have to work again. In England they’re retiring on tens of millions. There has to be a leveller at some point.

It just can't go om Alloager. My old man played professionally in Scotland and England's top divisions in the 50"s and 60's before the lifting of the maximum wage and got 20 quid a week. He orobably wouldn't believe how much players are being paid nowadays.
