We need to start investing in our own youth more.

We need Scottish lads at the very core of our team.

Players who can be moulded into the ethos of our club.

Hopefully these guys being successful would go on for fees and we would see a sustainable player trading model working.

Our club have failed miserably at this over the years.

The talent is there, it just needs cultivated and grown over time.

And say we add one or two real players each window and have a balance of up and coming homegrown youth mixed with players with experience. That is the way to success IMO.

We can't just keep buying players every year and trying to keep up with Celtic they have more money than us. We need a better plan and a longer term vision of how we move forward.

I know we would suffer in the short term and success would be harder to come by, but our current plan is not sustainable.

I firmly believe that with the 5 subs a rule should be put in that you can only use 3 or 4 and the remaining needs to be home grown player or u21. I think that would be a good step to make towards what you are saying mate.

I agree arcade ?I've said on here many times we should be hoovering up young scottish talent within scottish football who we can nurture into our first team going forward, who know how to play in scottish football and without question there's talent here ?We should be looking at a core of scottish talent ?.

I agree, but having worked in youth coaching for a few years now we, being Scotland Football, have two massive issues.

1. A huge % of our players stall at under 18’s as there is no genuine development pathway in Scottish football.

2. The monetary pull of England and Europe is only getting bigger.

That's a half decent idea dado . Would encourage teams to get homegrown players . It should be made European wide rule though not just Scotland.
