Really hoping hibs make the final spot in the top 6 to avoid a 3 trip to Rugby park. It is a very hard place to go for both Rangers and Celtic.

Is it set that we have to go to rugby park 3 times? are we away three home two?

Our league and the split is a total farce the fact that you have to play 3 times away once at home shows that it's not a level paying field.

Every other league does away with stupid split and we are the ones who stick by it.

18 teams play each other twice is way ahead or some other structure that allows a split but with home an away balanced.

Hi Paul,
Can you clarify as I’m not up to speed with this. We will have after the split . Them and Hearts away St Mirren and Killie at home. Why would that change depending on who gets 6th spot….

Prefer hibs miss tbh. Rather go away to Dundee than Hibs. Normally if there’s any decisions to be made then it’s the bottom up scenario so would expect we played Dundee.

I just seen this. How on earth can that be the case? Surely you go to the ground that would even up your fixtures against that team.

Because each club has to play 19 home and 19 away. Meaning rangers will definitely have 3 away games and 2 home games. But if hibs make the top 6 who we have already played twice at Ibrox that would even it up a bit as then would make it easier for post split fixtures so we would be going to easter road. If the top 6 finishes how it is now, then we could very well end up at killie for 3rd time. Was in all papers today.

If the top 6 stays the same. Because of 19/19 home and away, we would need to play killie St Mirren or Dundee away for the 3rd time. (I'm fairly confident they would make it killie. Hibs take one of these top 6 spots who we have already played twice at home, then this would even out.

I don’t think it makes a difference if Hibs or Dundee finish in top 6 re post split fixtures as long as you have a 3 / 2 split
Dundee finish 6 = Celtic away, Hearts away, Killie home St Mirrren home Dundee home.
Hibs finish 6 = as above except Hibs away.
That is my understanding but I may be wrong it is the SFA we know.

League should have 14 teams in it. Play everyone home and away that’s 26 games. Then split the table into 2 x 7’s.
Then you play the other 6 teams in your section home and away which is another 12 games, same 38 games and no bias on fixtures. Would give top half more games v better sides and vice versa for bottom.

Would also give teams 2 free weeks with odd number of teams after split which could mean scrapping winter break plus giving teams an opportunity for a rest going into Euro games, or glamour friendlies or warm training camp or catch up with postponed games, cup replays etc.

Not always the case blue 89. Few season back we went to pittodrie 3 times.

Scrambled eggs that can't happen. We will definitely have 3 away games in the split so every team has 19 home games and 19 away. So we will travel to 1 ground 3 times if hibs don't finish top 6. As we will have played them at Ibrox twice. Making the natural away game them as well as hearts and Celtic.

If that’s correct Paul then its the lowest ranking team that we have to play 3 times away.

Correct scrambled, that would be Dundee or St Mirren is my understanding.
