Young Devine is a true blue nose who would play for the jersey give these boys a chance.

I agree Devine deserves a run of games at someooint this season, or even be handed set games, say 10 picked out of the schedule guaranteed to him, so we can see if he has what it takes to replace tav from next season.

Devine ain't going to push the captain out. Same with a lot of these boys they ain't going to make the grade. Although majority of us would like to see what these youngsters can do the club ain't going to take a chance for them to prove themselves when we are chasing down them already.

Why can’t he take over from tav king?
Someone has to, I think we’d all agree this is likely, not defo, but likel n tavs last season so we need to give Devine his chance in selected games. If he’s not good enough then he wouldn’t be at the club.
I think he’s definitely good enough. Still young lots of room to improve, but he ain’t going to do that say in stands or if lucky on bench.
We need to play him, and rice, even McKinnon needs to get minutes to show what they have.
Spread the minutes about so your not throwing them all in at same time. Scottish kids are as good as any until the age of what? 19 onwards when they don’t get a pathway.

StevieG, tav has been very poor majority of games over last few seasons most supporters want him dropped when it's plain to see when he's been awful he gets stick almost every game but yet devine can't get a game. Start of season few youth players got released when folk on here said they would have big futures. Lowry is the same some folk need to take blue tinted specs off they aren't good enough. I totally agree with you in regards to mckinnon and Cole who do look the part. But now with every league game a must win do you see any of them getting these much needed games?

Devine looked more comfortable on the left than Sterling did the other week . Not judging Sterling yet but we shouldn`t write off our own. It is frustrating when they do get a game, show they can cope and then get discarded . These boys should be encouraged not dumped .

I don’t see them getting many chances mate no.
I don’t put that down to ability though I put it down to bad management.
That was the point of my post mate is to point out these players are good enough and they deserve and need to be given the chance but they aren’t.

Blue eyes not atall mate, I live tav I’m one of his biggest supporters. Always backing him up on here mate.
What I’m saying is, we need to start planning for life without tav so we need to see if Devine had what it takes.
Same as we done with Patterson, although that was forced by injury. If tav was never injured we likely wouldn’t have sold Patterson for what we did. Would he even have made an impact? Possibly not. Then what? Let go or sold on the cheap?
We need to give our youngsters games in order to see if they have what it takes to take over the position they’re in when the man in possession moves on.
Young rice is another, and Lowry should be in same bracket, also McKinnon. These guys need not just minutes but selected games.
I think this may well be tavs last season as 1st choice, so Devine needs to be played to see if he’s got what it takes for next season.
We need to think ahead at bigger picture sometimes.
This is tavs 9th season, I previously wrote he will likely leave this season but on 2nd thoughts he’ll likely wait til after his 10th year for testimonial then move on.
But some of his performances this year have been dodgy and I don’t think next season he should be 1st choice.
