After watching the game last night I have to admit iam slightly concerned. You would assume a friendly game so close to the start of our season would be for fine tuning not auditioning guys for the band. I get the feeling mb still doesn't know how he wants to play or has suddenly changed his plans. Hopefully it was treated like the game it was and just for experimenting and I am wrong to be worried. WATP.

i have to look at it as just a fitness routine and the shaping of the first team is being worked on behind closed doors, i'm still absolutely bewildered at the signing of yilmaz and will be until he shows some kind of defensive quality, because he hasn't shown any at any time for me, maybe he will, but i see him away and gone soon . beale spoke about a major rebuild, the problematic areas were kent/ morelos and the defence, we still have tav, borna and yilmaz who couldn't make agood defender between them, that's a massive concern because tavs getting older and worse, yilmaz shows nothing and borna hides. they won't all get better wghen connor returns, there's no guarantee connor won't go, so a serious ch signing and rebuild the defence now, everything else should fall into shape,

SPL teams will target Yilmaz because of his lack of height, they already target BB because although taller he has no idea where players are behind him either high or low crosses, at least this year we have a keeper who will come for crosses into the box, if Sterling can play on the left side then in away SPL games I'd play him there .

I’d play sterling on his favoured right side, get a left sided cb and a left back. Sell bb ridvan, kamara, Wright etc and that probably fund what we need.

Agree and that’s why we saw a lot of these players in pre season games as you need to try and generate interest in them.
Can’t see Matondo featuring much in upcoming games but he’s featured in these games for that reason.

Young Devine and sterling can both play left back if needed we will not drop tav and I’ve a sneaky feeling sterling is going to end up our left back before too long.
