SO VAR comes into play this weekend, what are the general overall thoughts on it. my personel thoughts are, it is only as good as the people using it, which means in this country i can see more controversey, with rangers probably being on the end of it!

I predict Morelos red card count will increase dramatically.

ek boy I don’t like it Man City’s goal getting chopped off sums it all up for me.

G4rry Man City goal was a foul and also was kicked out of keepers hands so they are two reasons why it was correctly chopped off.

I don’t think it should be brought in mid season. Also it depends how they use it if it’s like England they can stick it.

It is a good thing when used properly but as you say its only as good as the person operating it. When you watch match of the day there is always 3 or 4 bad decisions still and they have been using it for a few years now. The only thing it consistently gets right is offside because that is not down to the operator and how they see it.

The 'operators' don't make the decisions, or maybe I've got it wrong?

Offsides will be clear cut but it’ll be the same as everything, we’ll get decisions for us which is all the other lot will focus on and we’ll get decisions against us which is what we’ll moan about. i'd say it helped us in Europe last year on a couple of occasions and if we had it previously then for example Lundstrum wouldn’t have been sent off for his professional foul. If it gets more of the decisions correct then surely that’s a good thing. As long as it’s human interpretation though it’ll never be 100%
On a similar note, the best thing to happen in tennis was the introduction of Hawkeye, in my opinion.

Is the ball in the keepers hands not still in play unless it’s off the ground? I could be wrong. Was definitely a foul on the first instance but nothing wrong with his challenge on Allison as it was there to be won.

My understanding is that it’s not to be used to re referee the game the referee had a clear view at the time and waves play on and like Richards says he was already on his way down if we’re going to comb over everything then am sorry but the game we love will descend into a complete farce.

It’s already a farce g4rry. If the people that are paid to get the decisions right while watching it super slow mo then the game is ruined. It’s already happening. Some of the decisions from var have been ridiculous. Nuts. The games knackered.

G4rry it was a foul and a goal came from it so the var OP thought it was clear and obvious and again the ball was kicked out of the GK hand the goal could have been chopped off for either and ref watch said it was correct decision also.

You are wrong 12th the keeper can have one hand on the ball and deemed to be in control of it. It’s happened in epl twice over last couple of years one hand on ball and ball still on ground and goal not been given.

Bournmouth stole wall pen striker pulled back not given

Also how long will it take till we hear the guy from var who gave ranger55 a penalty even tho the full squad was offside is a gers fan or a mason or from the other side the var guy is a tic fan and got family in southern ireland

I can just see it all coming in the next few months and for years to come.

Cool mate the rules changed a while ago I don’t agree with them but that is the rules. Dermot Gallagher said it was a foul and keeper was in control. You used Richard’s who is a die hard Man City fan who is obviously going to say that.

The offside rule needs changed, we've had goals disallowed in the EPL from VAR for a toenail being ahead of the defence, it would be more exciting if it had to be the whole body that was offside, certainly more goals.
