There is 2 good rules in rugby that I would like to see used in football.
The first is the clock stops when the ball is not in play and would eradicate time wasting.
Second is the players are not allowed to surround the ref or talk back to them and the ref explains why fouls are given and the players accept that in rugby and just get on with it.

I agree with both it would be good there used to be a stat about how long the ball is in play but don’t see it as much now.

In principle those sound great however you’d be surprised at how little time the ball is in play over 90minutes, we’d be at a game for over 2hrs.
Second point, I was at a Lyn international rugby game linked up to the ref and he explained decisions to players and if there was a problem he spoke to the captain and told him to get it sorted. Players questioning his decision called him “sir”. These were guys knocking lumps out of each ons proper hard men, but they had respect. Footballers are over paid prima donnas that think they’re hard and have no respect whatsoever, and get paid a fortune for the privilege.

Agree with all this but. fans and pundits have a different mentality. If the refs were miked up the pundits and Dan's would crucify them for being honest. Rugby its just accepted unless it's a world Cup final against Australia 😃.

Think I saw a stat that the ball is actually in play less than half the game. Like alloa said, games could last about 3 hours.
