with so many high profile youngsters destined for the top yet move on from gers and don't make it who's to blame here. The likes of ruth's McCabe, Greg wylde, Jamie ness etc. Is it the youth process, current manager, gers youth set up I'd also mentioned glen Middleton in this category as played an absolute blinder in Europe and completely changed the game in gers favour then got dropped completely. who's to blame here. exciting youth that does well in first team then gets dropped completely,? Thoughts.

dd1980, for every Barry Ferguson there are hundreds of talented boys who don't make it.
For every Rory McIlroy there are hundreds of talented boys who don't make it.
For every Andy Murray there are hundreds of talented boys who don't make it.
For every Gavin Hastings there are hundreds of talented boys who don't make it.
For every Usain Bolt there are hundreds of talented boys who don't make it.
Why do you feel the need to lay blame when it is just the natural way of things?

Middleton is not Rangers class and we can see the immediate difference when a youngster comes in that is Rangers class i. e. Nathan Paterson who earns a cap on a handful of first team performances. The days where we can produce a squad of home grown top players are gone, in the 50-70s we hade much more of a playing population pool to choose from, not any more. The equation is simple, have a large population, have them all play football from an early age and let the best of them be picked and develop into top pros. That is why we could compete when we had millions of kids playing in the 60s in the street and the rest follows. We will never compete consistently, bar the odd fluke, against larger populations unless we can increase the younger playing population.

Thb. middleton, McCabe, ness and wylde for instance when they came into the team did brilliant yet none of them were pushed on with gers. yes Patterson's did well in the handful of games he's played but will he be like the rest and fail for whatever reasons that we don't know about. my point being is why have so many high profile youngsters that came into the team that I've mentioned and did well eventually not get a proper chance at gers?,
