Could this other Yilmaz lad be brought in as a way to help Rivdan settle? Or is it a legit we want him for ability alone or both I suppose. I know that might sound daft to some but it's done a lot, certainly in the past!

Although I would imagine he'll have enough family around.

I'm fairly sure we've done it as a club a few times.

I keep feeling we don't have a game changer on the bench. Want Hagi back.

Need to trim surplus to get another good signing. I'm not including getting rid of Kamara in that, we need him he looks great just now.

Ive also had a mate tell me Olaru deal is not dead! Rangers did make offers but rejected. And we are waiting for outgoings as we might go back in for him.

Anyone else heard this? J25?

Gdog Turkish press seem to think second yilmaz to rangers as u suggest not so daft.

I believe we made two offers for olaru. Wages off out goings could see us go back in.

. Got to agree with the bench comment. I felt the bench was decent last season. We have signed a few players and it ain’t strengthened bench one bit for the start of the season. Unfortunately this is down to the injuries we have with a few important players. I’m sure bench will be looking strong when Alfredo, roofe and hagi are all fully back in action.

Agree John but what better players to do so Davis is a real good example to youth and arfield is a good example of a hard working player. I was surprised when both received new contracts but can't say they don't deserve it. I think they could do a Defoe and leave in Jan or maybe we could look to give them some coaching experience with b team.

WSLGERS read my post again mate. You aren’t necessarily buying him to hold his hand. But that did happen in the past I’m fairly sure we took someone for Chilean striker some time ago his name escapes me and also Gattuso. But anyway the point is another Turkish player would help this lad not Steve D or Shagger.

The reason I mention it is because there is a lot of thought from Turkey this lad will get homesick! So it would not surprise me if this ‘type of thing is being or was considered’

And J25 is spot on, Davis contract is partly to mentor McCann as he is that highly thought of and worth investing in. It’s smart business on both counts.

There is no way we would spend nearly a million pounds on a guy to help another player settle and I did read the post that's what it said, first line . We are also not paying Davis and Arfield to hold the hands of young players, they are legitimate first team players who also have the advantage of helping youngsters. Defoe was dumped as soon as he was no longer good enough for the first team and they will be the same. As for doing it in the past, the only Chilean we have had is Seb Rosenthal and we didn`t sign another one to keep him happy . Gattuso was at Ibrox same time as Amoruso, Negri and Porrini so didn`t really need another Italian brought in to keep him happy.
