As I stated before, this constant buying players with a history of injuries or they where once a great player but have just lost their way isn't working.

The board should come out and say we are changing direction and the next couple of years will be a challenge and a struggle. Employ a team of top coaches with a good pedigree of working with youths from across Europe Ajax, barca, ect find a manager that has father figure qualities, developed playing style and that is used across all levels of the club. Sell them a project. If we spend 4 or 5 mill on a player, buy and 18 or 19 year old that's career is on the up. Spend 15 to 20 mill Recruiting the best young prospect from across Europe and beyond, by offering European football experience and a chance to play for a club of the stature of Rangers.
Looking back in history all the great clubs have did this Barca, man utd, ajax, Red Star ect. Its as clear as day that financially scottish football is finished on the European stage. So we need to grow our own.

We already tried this. Since the youth academy was build we’ve had some incredible coaches in there. We brought the guy who ran the Ajax academy over to Scotland to run ours back in the 90s. Under GVB we hired top coaches fromAjax and Belgium. Dave Vos was with us recently. Gerrard was a youth coach when we hired him. Beale has worked as a youth coach. Banfield too with Arsenal.

Most of them aren’t here long enough to make any difference. When you work at a club with a view to developing youth it can take years to see it pay off. At Rangers you need to win instantly or it's a sacking and the backroom staff are cleared out - Then start again.

Celtic signed a bunch of young players from across Europe with a view to developing them and selling for a profit. Most of them look like duds and their fans are complaining about signing “project players”. The got some e good value from the Asian market but these were guys Ange knew from his time in the league.

Both Old Firm teams want to win. They can’t attracts the finished article to Glasgow so they need to find projects, people who are undervalued (due to injury or poor form), etc. These are the markets they shop in. Even Celtic’s manager came from a team that had just been relegated. We are very limited in the quality we can bring to Scotland these days.

Sorry mate that won't work. Evidence just look at our success in bringing the youth through. Eh none. We buy young players to sell for a small profit and constantly buy players Hoping they’ll make us a profit. For the last few on this site it’s been all the talk. What happened to buying players to win trophies.

It's a noble thought but we'll still have 50,000 booing the set-up your describing if we're not winning. Then the board would have to rip it up in order to get success. Feels like we're stuck in a vicious circle just now whether it's bad appointments, purchases or injuries. Hopefully we get back on track regardless or what route we choose next because this is awful.

Verdant, Celtic unfortunately have made millions from their trading model, look at Jota, Dembele, Van Dijk to name but a few, they have 10s of millions in that biscuit tin. It can be done with the right recruitment. As much as it pains me to say it, what is the sell on value of our team vs theirs? Kyogo compared to Dessers, hatate vs Lundstrum. Our issue ain’t just poor tactics/ management, it’s poor recruitment too.

have to agree aribo celtic appear to havw done their homework although they are not a great side they are much stronger than any team in scotland and their better players
on longer term contracts.

I said from the start there's no way beale should have sold a natural goalscorer like colak and i don't wear this talk he didn't fit the system? You get players to play with natural goalscorers and you feed them inside the 18 yard box and they do what it says on the tin "they score goals' which wins games and trophies and that will never change ?Beale is playing a system that over complicates the game and it's not working with the player's he's signed to play it ? We've hardly any pace and cutting edge within our team and absolutely no width to get down the sides of the opposition to stretch them ?I don't know where we go from here guys and chopping and changing manager's every season or so isn't the answer also ?.

The chairman backed Beale to an extent. Not sure they trust his judgment
Raskin butland Dowell cifuentes Danilo were not I’d by Beale he approved them one or two reluctantly I’m told. He did not eat Danilo or cifuentes. Both of by John Park.

Sadly post I was given hard time for in May re worrying times coming to fruition.

Correct aribo but some rangers fans don’t want to admit that we have made good money on two players aribo and Bassey while they have been doing it for years with numerous players.

Verdant are you saying we should just keep a man in charge when we have no style of play? The players E has brought in aren’t good enough? He is clearly out of his depth? When he is clearly clueless?

If the board are happy to finish 2nd each year the season book price should reflect this. You can't keep asking for top dollar if the brand of football is dross.

I get its been tried before but half heartily. I'm talking serious investment in buying the best youth in Europe and playing them mixed with some experienced players like butland. If we are buying 5 or 6 of the best our money can buy in Europe we won't sell that 5 or 6 the following season.
Old argument Butland for club captain. We need to do all we can to keep Butland.

Rangers fans will never accept this model.

I've sat at Ibrox for over 35 years and listened to our fans abuse the likes of:

Craig Moore, Charlie Adam, Chris Burke, John Fleck and Alan Hutton

when they were breaking into the team, to name just a few. First sign of inexperience or the first mistake and they're instantly not good enough.

We saw it last year with Robbie McCrorie. Boy did nothing that led to goals against us, had some great saves in big games, but dropped a couple of crosses away to Hibs and instantly wasn't good enough in huge portion of our supports eyes. After a handful of games.

I've said before, Rangers (and to a degree Celtic) fans are entitled to the point where a youth development model, where players are developed and sold, will never be allowed to work by the fans. Players coming in, if they're young, need to be ready to play, because mistakes will simply never be tolerated. We have decades of this reality as experience.

Gdog spot on. This board needs to accept and so do a lot of fans that the core support want success. They waited for 9 years twice to win a league. They see it happening again through a serious of mismanagement, crap players and inexperienced managers with no style. It’s a bit like trying to get us to drink wine like the French, ain’t happening.

DofF isn’t needed. What is is a board, manger, captain and players whose foremost thought is Winning. I don’t expect to win the league or cups every year. Happy to wait another 15 years for a European final. Seen 3 in my life. I’ve been saying it a while and no one has shot me down. Our capital projects will affect our spending power. I understand it makes business sense at times, I understand European football brings in the cash, but this not a top league in Europe we’re it seems Europe is more important that domestic football. I have said myself 2nd brings champs league so why spend 40 million. However It’s Scotland, a 2 horse league and our horse is looking fecked for the third year in a row.
