Interesting interview with Dave King. Couple of big takeaways, He wants Gerrard back and he never wanted to leave (don't believe that part) . The rebuild will be much slower than we hope, don't expect 8 or 9 out and 5 or 6 in. Funds will be spread over next few years with big chunk to start off. Could be like last time with SG and take a couple of seasons to challenge again. Big problem was players attitude and not trying their best. Just a few points made. Make of it what u will.

Asthor I don't think he'll have no clue am sure he would have seeked assurances when negotiating the sale of his shares one of which would have been what is the plan for taking the club forward as I believe he wants what's best for the club moving forward.

I have always been clear on my opinion of King and that has not softened.
He is appearing in the media in one last desperate attempt to stay relevant.
It all feeds into his ego.
Respect what he has done for Rangers but I find it difficult to respect what the man has become.

He was involved in speaking to them to begin with so maybe does have more knowledge than most, but I do take a lot of what he says with a pinch of salt. Appreciate a lot of what he's done but he says a lot of contradictory things and enjoys the attention but also a big part of the spend now worry later mentality that's got us in trouble.

Think DK is first and foremost a fan, and should be held in fairly high esteem for stepping in to help the club, as should a few others who put their money where their mouth was.
Surely as someone so connected with Rangers, he would have an inside knowledge on progression of the club ftom within and is also able to give his personal opinions alongside this, which is what he's done.
The time has been right for a while for a new guard but I appreciate all that was done previously in difficult circumstances.

ASA he's been interviewed and asked a question and he's gave his opinion. He's perfectly entitled to that opinion if he hadn't stepped up when he did god knows where we'd be now. ANYTHING King or Gerrard you're negative which is fine. Remember that when someone questions your opinion or views. No crying anti foreign rhetoric just apply the same standard to yourself as you do to him. What has he become? We don't all see things the same … I disagree with lots on here I don't think any less of someone or think what has our fan base become ….

Gerrard was a King appointment back in 2018 and understand they maintain a good relationship.
However, I suspect it's maybe a parting shot from King toward Douglas Park. King believes Gerrard wouldn't have left had he remained in his position. Heard from numerous people that Park was one of the reasons Gerrard chose to leave at the time.
Means nothing though, no one from the previous regime has an influence anymore. I think the timing of King's interview is telling though, I don't think he would have shared his opinion so openly until he was certain the takeover was concluded.
He was pressed on talksport a few weeks ago and asked his opinion on the next manager - he refused to commit to any candidate or knowledge of who was in the running.

Totally agree with Asa here, king will always be held in high regard for his part in reviving us but he is in the media to try and stay relevant, spouting nonsense, yes he will have wanted proof of funds, what the new regime do with the funds is of no business to him so he wouldn't be told anything that they plan to do with it, as long as he gets the money he wants for his shares would he really care anyway?

Maybe if King hadn't walked away and stayed and supported the man he appointed then Gerrard wouldn't have walked away as well .
He has no knowledge of what the new owners have planned, why would they tell him.
We are not as far off the other mob as we were when Gerrard took over especially if we have some finance behind us and if it takes 3 years we will have gone through at least 2 managers . There is no way the new owners will want to wait that long to make the C. L .

Each to their own, but Gerrard had us playing superb attacking football easily the best since coming back up, his attacking tiki taka along with Beale's training had us slapping high quality teams around for fun in Europe when value and quality wise our team wasn't even expected to get out of the Europa qualifiers.
Gerrard was spot on though you don't get the big money the champions league money brings unless you retain your rising talents, Bassey, Aribo, Patterson for example, seems like someone on the board had other ideas, and wanted to cash instead of build so we could dominate our league and have better results in the champions league.
They didn't share Gerrard's vision for Rangers so of course he left. With a net worth of 75 million, i wouldn't be rushing anything either.

King may or may not know who the new manager is, i am also sure that he did due diligence when selling his shares that it was in the best interest for the club. Just hope it was more than what Mr Murray did.
However thereafter he has no influence, he didn't put a clause in his sale offer that he must be consulted (as far as i know) on anything that Rangers did. from what i understand he has sold all his shares so there endith his financial interest in rangers.
his support and pandering to Gerrard is why we are in a mess now.
