2023 first day of preseason after the testing etc, I met him in a nightclub smashed out his face.
Thoroughly unprofessional. Knew then he'd never make it here.

I have to agree EHL although I obviously don't see him around the training ground like you will.
The boy was well liked by the players and management. His attitude seems fine. He's just not intelligent enough in terms of decision making on the park, injury prone and inconsistent.
The boy has ability but he can't consistently deliver and can't keep himself fit.

Always felt Matondo had something to offer, especially when playing on the left side rather than the right side.
Unfortunately it's not worked out for him and his future is most probably elsewhere, for me anyway, I feel that there's no need for the character assassination.

Sorry CO2 but frankly I think the vast majority of the squad deserve exactly that.
This run of form is solely down to them. Anyone should be able to come in off the street and manage Rangers to home victories over queens park and motherwell.
This season is entirely down to the losers and charlatans in this squad.
Hopefully the Everton head of recruitment leaving his position means we are spared more of these ridiculous koppen signings.

I heard the manager at Hannover 96 who brought him in on loan was sacked recently. Matondo can now claim to have seen off 4 managers in 3 seasons. Frank Lampard must be having a huge sigh of relief that Matondo was angling for higher bonuses than Coventry could put on the table in January. Talent has always been there but I think his confidence is shot to bits after injuries and inability to be consistant. Jefte will have played 3 times as many minutes this season alone than Matondo in the last 3 at Rangers and Hannover combined.

Reading of rm and night clubs reminds years back I worked in. old rooftops in glasgow and after work saw Basil Bolly drunk as a skunk with 3 gorgeous girls getting into a cab. He was another guy that couldn't get Rangers or what we were about.

During preseason players are tested and retested over a number of areas.
One of the most important repetitive tests is on electrolytes, and alcohol would have a massive impact on this.
Personally I find it hard to believe any player would risk this during the first days of preseason and find it even more difficult to believe with Matondo due to his reputation.

BB it may be true but I find it hard to believe that during pre-season when the fitness testing is ongoing that a player would be in a club and so drunk but then be able to turn up next day and perform in the ongoing fitness tests which happen and manage to fool the coaching staff.

Drinking has had quite a bad effect on previous generations of my family so I chose not to partake.
Doesn't mean I can't go out with my pals, especially when I was younger.
Also agree with TrueBlue re sakala. Should have stayed over matondo.

EHL, once again, I don't care if you believe me or not.
If I was going to make up a blatant lie about a player, I'd pick someone more out there than someone that hasn't played more than 5 games in a row.

Same raskin re family and alcohol mate. I don't want to be falling out with ppl, i just find it hard not to beleive you. Not sure why you would find the need to make it up that's all. Storm of course they're allowed a night out I've said nothing on wether his attitude is bad or not, just that i believe the guy.
