12 Feb 2025 23:57:20
John, you mentioned pre agm that there was investment incoming and rumours suggested it was from Jim McColl and Billy Walker. All has went quiet any update?
13 Feb 2025 00:10:37
Think EHL said could be on the periphery once board room sorts itself out once and for all.
13 feb 2025 03:01:45
the situation is fluent as far as i'm aware and will iron itself out in time, hopefully at least one of those you mention will be involved in a financial transaction with the club.
13 Feb 2025 04:35:08
God i hope so TT12?Do you think clement will remain our manager the rest of this season and beyond TT12 ?.
13 feb 2025 07:13:15
yes i do coops, his remit is vast and is being followed as far as i know, a complete revamp always will have hiccups and cup ties have and always will throw up the occasional shocks but the players are the real culprits on this and a few other occasions, clement is adding great value and cutting great cost
many obviously can't or won't see that but business wise he is doing alm they asked and more, when Rangers bring in upwards of 7-10m for raskin8-12m fir igamane and others like diomande and potentially a fair sum for jefte then the obvious benefits of bringing clement and koppen in will be seen, Rangers will then continue on this course but while bringing inn players who can win the league as well as add value
rome wasn't built in a day, it's pathetic the screaming and wailing and name calling, what's happened to our philosophy, we will have our bad times, but we won't cry like babies.
13 Feb 2025 08:09:17
Tomthumb while players should take a good portion of the blame that doesn't change the fact the Clement is got us playing the most horrific football since league 1, expect hiccups? The hiccups haven't stopped domestically and to add to that some one his comments are beyond ridiculous he's been here a while now and he's no better at understanding Rangers now than when he first came in, we will not progress as a club with him in charge.
13 Feb 2025 08:15:35
It isn't Clements job to cut costs Tom or anything business wise. His job is on the park. And u seem perfectly happy screaming and wailing and name calling babies anyone with different opinions to yourself.
13 Feb 2025 08:37:35
Kaiser just maybe Tom understand the game better than most? new teams take longer than months together and of course there will be many bumps in the road.
13 feb 2025 08:45:47
mmm, name one kaiser, one person, I've called names, ir screamed at?
if you are unable to talk like a griwn up re football, dint bother with my posts thanks
burt, , Rangers under clement have been the better team in the last 3 old firm games, beating Celtic 3 nil
they have played 4 of the top 12 clubs in the europa league and qualified, taking utd to the last kick of tge ball at old trafford, they have played some fantastic football in europe again, . only weeks ago we were celebrating a breathtaking old firm win, and again in nice and other european griunds
but, you believe, " the most horrific football since league one "
il pass on your football knowledge thanks mate.
13 Feb 2025 08:58:26
My star its hardly a new team. Kelly, butland, tav, sterling, souttar, balogun, ridvan, raskin, diomande, hagi, mccausland, danilo and dessers have all been here more than a season.
This new team lie is tiresome.
13 Feb 2025 09:06:07
Kaiser isn't wrong though star it isn't PC's job to cut wages/ costs.
13 Feb 2025 09:09:05
He's still acting like a hypocrite because he gives out plenty himself. And now if people have different opinions they don't know much about football.
13 Feb 2025 09:15:02
Cool if you don't think it's a different team from last season east, I'm seeing 7/ 8 changes in the line up from last season, that says it's a new team to me, clearly you don't think like that ?.
Didn't Kelly sign in the summer east?
13 Feb 2025 09:16:21
Hagi did he kick a ball for Rangers last season east? No.
13 Feb 2025 09:25:14
Good post Tom thumb, I've been on several times saying similar. This over reaction every time we lose a game is not for me. Yes we're 13 pints behind a financially far superior Celtic, but we've been tge better team the last twice we've played them, played fantastically in Europe home and away, all while bringing the age and wage down dramatically. Boardroom issues first quarter of season meant PC did have to deal in financially and not forgetting horrendous injury list and carrying players on good wages around the club who are aware they are surplus to requirements. Some of the players at the club had downed tools for several managers so big picture wise, I agree he's performing to his remit.
13 Feb 2025 09:35:42
Kaiser you can name me as one for a start. But that's the thing with some on here they think they can't attack others but it's ok because it's them that do it but when others give it back they don't like it.
I won't name what kind of behaviour that is but we all know.
I give and I take it.
Rule for one and a rule for another on here.
Mystar how does he understand better than most because he allegedly played the game?
Let's go with kris boyd and a few other ex players from Rangers that want rid of PC do they not understand the game or we just using TT because he fits your narrative?
13 Feb 2025 09:37:35
TT you are doing it with burt on this post being derogatory by saying I'll pass on your football knowledge ?.
I am just glad others are starting to see it.
13 Feb 2025 09:42:24
What the Celtic/ Euro stats show is that we are a team more built for that open flowing style of football, where counter attacking is paramount.
The SPL in general is much more physical and direct, which for me PC has yet to get to grips with. Whilst I am not naive advocating 2 separate sides, I do think we need more SPL attuned players to supplement our euro style. Which does mean adding players with some dig, and aerial presence (especially at the back) .
A fine balance but one I feel does need remedied for next season.
13 Feb 2025 09:56:15
9 players that started on Sunday never kicked a ball for Rangers last season, 7 players that started in our last victory against Celtic never kicked a ball for Rangers last season, if you don't think that is a different team from last season cool east ?.
13 Feb 2025 10:05:55
Tom u literally started a post to have a go at storm, referred to morons, called out those who think different as babies. there's been plenty of times youve called our folk. We all do it at times. I try and be respectful and balanced most of the time but I've been called out for it too. It goes both ways. Respect your views mate but your no better than the rest of us.
13 Feb 2025 11:00:32
By the way I don't have a problem with calling folk out as long as not abusive and eds will sort that. But you came on to complain about it. So far because I voice a different opinion I must be among the clueless blind screaming baby morons who doesn't know football like u. Which is maybe hard to argue against tho I'm only recently on reading glasses.
13 Feb 2025 11:36:14
Mark I never mentioned McColl.
13 Feb 2025 11:48:15
Tomthumb, we've been good in Europe for years now but yes the football is horrific we lost the cup final to Celtic and best them once when it mattered.
The stadium will get smaller attendance each week we will finish the Season probably 20-ISH points behind them.
13 Feb 2025 11:50:18
New young team . in the building. is now annoying, go check out detail of last Monaco season, he lost the plot and I think got pumped in a cup by a lower league team.
13 Feb 2025 11:55:44
Storm Kris Boyd is a good example, that mans changes his mind weekly.
13 Feb 2025 12:01:36
If it's not his job to cut costs and ship players off then surely it's not his job to sign and buy players? Some of the people on this page man wow.
13 Feb 2025 12:04:56
Kasier is great when they get pulled up they don't reply because they think they can't do anything wrong. Mystar saying TT is maybe more knowledgeable about football which I don't understand why with his views. But when I said about Boyd the silence from his is golden ?.
13 Feb 2025 12:07:30
It's an online forum where everyone is anonymous, if you're taking things that serious then that seems like a you problem.
13 Feb 2025 12:11:01
Normally I would agree with Kaiser and Fork, but this occasion I believe PC had to buy into it and come on board to take it forward. Think that's why he stayed and not left. His reputation is taking a battering just now. This will make or break him. I agree performances are crap but at the end of season again let's see who replaces dessers, hai, tav, Butland and a few others who I believe will go.
13 Feb 2025 12:13:37
Does anybody think there will be more clarity from the club before the game press tomorrow… clarity is all fans want to know what's the direction for PC if he stays. The silence from the board is deafening.
13 Feb 2025 12:15:13
Hagi has been here 5 years and kelly was here for over 10 before 3 away ? "not kicking a ball" doesn't mean he wasn't here.
And yes, hagi did play last season before leaving on loan.
Imagine rotating youth and newer players in against a Lower league team. Shocking!
6 of the 11 against Celtic have been here before this season, as we're 3 of the 5 subs.
"New team".
13 Feb 2025 12:23:27
7 that started against Celtic weren't Rangers players last season, clearly your new team and mine are way different east.
13 Feb 2025 12:24:20
The debacle in the cup definitely lies with certain players, and the mentality of the approach to the game, slow tempo, we have no pace in midfield, no craft, in defence we have no one who can header a ball, every set piece we look vulnerable, there seems to be a lack of passion, has the manager lost the dressing room?, or are certain players simply not good enough or have the right mindset or bottle to represent our club, how can we go from beating them 3-0, playing spurs off the park, playing really well at man utd, qualified for top 8 in Europe, then be beaten at home by queens park?, also some of the league performances being absolutely dreadful,
13 Feb 2025 12:30:17
My opinion the majority of our players had no fight in that game on Sunday.
13 Feb 2025 12:41:05
Agree my star. that's been an issue for a while. I believe when we won the league a few thought they would get big money moves that never happen. Europe performances to me are an advertising board for players to move on, thus improved performance. That was a nothing game to some on Sat. Said it before, not interested in Scottish standard medals.
13 Feb 2025 12:47:08
Pc job is to have us play on the pitch get results and and COACH the players! He simply isn't doing that. he will deem players surplus then it's the boards job to get a fee if any . it's the boards job to get costs down not pc.
13 Feb 2025 13:04:37
I might butt heads with Mystar at times Storm but at least normally its just good debates with him.
13 Feb 2025 13:59:25
Using Kris Boyd as an example of football knowledge is awful he's on the tv for one reason to wind people up and get people interacting. Boyd was a tremendous penalty box striker but that's about as far as it goes for natural ability he was not great there's a reason Walter never really played him in big games and there's a reason he's not went into coaching or management. Being a good footballer or even just a pro doesn't mean you have a great understanding of the game.
13 Feb 2025 14:16:14
Tom if clement is doing everything in his remit then the board need to come out and tell us what the remit is and to temper expectation. Then it might take the heat off the manager. They just don't want the heat themselves. Parasites.
Think it was dado prso who said similar.
13 Feb 2025 15:46:19
Team v celtic:
Kelly - over 10 years at the club
Ridvan - here last season
Sterling - here last season
Dio - here last season
Raskin - here last season
Hagi - here last season
Subs:
Cortes - here last season
Danilo - here last season
Dessers - here last season
Fraser - here last season.
13 Feb 2025 16:51:37
You can count Hagi if you want east but no way can you include Kelly.
13 Feb 2025 17:06:44
This page is getting tiresome. In fighting squabbles etc. Hard to keep reading. I think most have some valued points within their statements on bith sides of opinions and argument.
The big thing for me is that's as fans we expect better, standards. The board are not transparent enough. I hope this will change when Patrick does his inquest. He needs time. With investment this needs a statement. We are working on it or nothing happening. No big explanation but something.
13 Feb 2025 18:02:52
What a ridiculous argument this thread is.
13 Feb 2025 19:03:41
The real reason folk won't want to boycott or do any sort of protest like that isn't because they have "faith" in clement or it's a case of "in koppen we trust" it is to protect their precious mygers points and that comes first before anything that is happening on the park even when it's the worst result in the clubs history.
13 Feb 2025 19:19:32
RickWitter that is a very valid point ?.
13 Feb 2025 20:24:23
Why would the board come out and give a running commentary regards PC's position every week? PS has already said what is and what needs to happen. Honestly, the sense of entitlement amongst some is becoming tiresome.
13 Feb 2025 20:55:52
Fans deserve some sorts of commenting, do they not sir struth? After all it's us fans n supporters for years that have had to deal with the brown stuff the board n managers have spouted towards us.
13 Feb 2025 21:30:54
Fans have been told what's going on already. You don't get a revised plan and special press conference every time there's a bump in the road. Nothing's changed. There's your newsflash.
13 Feb 2025 23:55:28
Getting out out the Scottish club by a lower league club is not a bump in the road.
14 Feb 2025 07:29:07
I have to agree, these are not "bumps", this is incompetence. PC is way out his depth. His tactics and style of play, if he has a style, both are very poor. He said after the Queens park game that we had the most shots on goal since he arrived, the sentiment behind that statement alone should have got him the sack. Koppen must also shoulder the blame. Its time to admit that we got these appointments wrong again.
14 Feb 2025 08:47:44
It is a bump Strom surely. Just because it's the first time we've lost in the cup to a team outside our league doesn't make it less so, people go on like we've lost to a non league side, they're mid table in a league below, yes we should beat them but Liverpool should beat Plymouth, Celtic should beat caley thistle, there's no devine right, the team looks like it needs to score early or gets very nervous, partly because of the crowd demands which are quite rightly high but not easy for all players to handle. Pressure is not something that everybody can handle well.
14 Feb 2025 10:07:39
Of course it is a bump in the road storm maybe a bigger bump, but if you think any another manager comes in without all these bumps in the road that's only fantasy.
14 Feb 2025 10:20:31
That's not a bump in the road for me baz, it's the last straw for the manager. I have said on here many times for me he had to win the Scottish cup for him to continue he hasn't so that's why he has to go for me. Away form in league is terrible. On the upside, the European form is good but SG, gio were good also.
14 Feb 2025 11:57:43
In my opinion for PC to continue as manager after this season then we would have to see progress. I think reasonable progress would have been at least a cup win and a title challenge. Unfortunately we have seen neither. Its actually been one domestic humiliation after another. I also don't think, with the exception of maybe two or three, that our signings have been value for money. We have not seen anything to justify the huge expense on Cortes, Diomande and Bajrami who in total I think has cost us £13 million which I think is a significant waste. Then there is Jefte, Barron and Propper who cost a lot less but have not improved our squad. I said earlier, Koppen has to shoulder the blame for thip and it is only fair that questions are asked of Koppens suitability.
Now back to PC, it has been proven time and time again that he is tactically inept domestically and his subs are mind blowing. Our season has been a humilating failure. Celtic are going to win another treble. No Rangers manager would have survived to this point. I personally feel he should have been sacked after we lost our second league game. Our domestic season may have been savable.
Yes we have been decent in europe but that is not enough.
I am at a loss as to how there are still some fans who continue to make excuses for this failure but each to their own.
14 Feb 2025 11:58:51
Nobody on earth or anywhere else is going to hand big money to that board, it needs to be they all go and get lost and they just won't do that.
14 Feb 2025 13:59:43
Mystar where did I say a manager will come without bumps in the road? The problem is pc is going the right direction to have bumps in the road he is going backwards.
14 Feb 2025 15:53:10
Don't get me wrong Storm, I can see where your coming from and don't totally disagree that it's unacceptable, but I feel the manager has had to work under poor circumstances and it's going to take a bit longer to fix than we'd all like. That team at weekend should have won but not getting an early goal hurts their already poor confidence.
Just can't say it's not heading in right direction with some fantastic results in Europe which earns us decent money, increases player profile and team coefficient. I think time is all that's needed but the big question is will he get the time required for the fix needed. I can see why a lot on here feel it's not happening quick enough, just not me.
15 Feb 2025 12:40:14
Good post Baz.
