Matondo's agent currently working a loan move in Italy. Rangers insisting on including an option to buy at the end of the loan period.
13 Jan 2025 15:29:56
Honestly I can't see who would want to buy him only chance is a free but hopefully someone out there sees something I don't ??????.
13 Jan 2025 15:34:14
Really hope we can get a move for him sorted, because he just isn't going to be a difference maker in 90% of our games. He needs space to rub in to that we just do not see domestically.
Do we think we'd be replacing him if he goes? I'm guessing Cortes is supposed to be our first choice left winger, and Bajrami and Hagi can fill in there if needed.
13 Jan 2025 15:39:09
This would be wonderful and would mean we can hopefully bring in a good winger ?.
13 Jan 2025 15:40:36
Its only us who buy players like matondo, dowell, cortes, lammers, dio, propper, jefte, yilmaz, dessers, lawerence, cifu, davies, I'll stop there because the list is endless and I only have 98% battery left.
13 Jan 2025 15:59:36
Including Jefte and Dowell in the same sentence deserves a ban.
We are also not the only team that signs duds, majority of transfers fail. Infact 30% of transfers fail in general can't expect every signing to work. City/ Real/ Barcelona/ Bayern all sign duds as well.
13 Jan 2025 16:04:56
Was suppose to be "although majority of our transfers fail"
13 Jan 2025 16:17:25
aerondonn. I think not might be a higher fail rate as I have seen quoted that only 40% of transfers are successful. It may be the league the team or a number of reasons why they dont.
Those mentioned have done well before and since otherwise we wouldn't have signed them nor would have others. The one thing they all have is the mentality to be pro footballers. Whilst ability is one part the mentality is the thing which means that players make the breakthrough in youth ranks.
13 Jan 2025 16:22:34
We'll not lose money on Dio or Cortes, Jefte will make us big profit from initial price as will Hamza and Nico.
13 Jan 2025 16:23:25
Don't forget the source.
The Daily Record and Rangers News
Highly dubious.
13 jan 2025 16:42:32
cortez just beginning, he will be a good player.
13 Jan 2025 16:51:53
Not where I got my information from, Blue Blazer but I see they are reporting on it now too.
I am confident in my source and can confirm clubs have contacted the club about him and a couple of other players. Very early stages though.
13 Jan 2025 17:00:34
What a drain of a wage this boy has been, I don't care if we get any money for him. Just get him gone and let someone from the B team take his spot on the bench.
13 Jan 2025 17:08:31
I'm desperate to see Matondo leave. Clearly has no future with us. An awful waste of money.
13 Jan 2025 17:22:47
TT12,if you don't mind me asking pal from some of the centre halfs we've been linked with currently, which one would you want us to sign ?.
13 Jan 2025 17:23:46
Don't see why rangers would want an option to buy be on a player they are loaning out. An obligation yes but the club could say no at the end of the loan if they don't want him with an option to buy also if there is no option they could still buy him at the end of the loan any way if they wanted him.
13 Jan 2025 17:33:30
Obligation to buy, surely? An option is a given.
13 Jan 2025 17:37:11
Can't see anybody wanting Matondo, although we bought him! Be great to get him off the wage bill. He's one of our highest earners!
13 Jan 2025 17:41:31
Some of you are very harsh on individual players. Don't think we've seen enough to consider Cortes a bad signing. Guy looked superb before his injury and just bad luck he was out for so long. Dio, Jefte and Yilmaz have been good. Many of the others like Propper have been great for former clubs so hard to really criticise the signing, even if he hasn't adapted (I remember Amoruso being a bit of a liability in his first Scottish season) .
13 Jan 2025 17:42:45
Has anyone seen anything in cortes that makes them think he will be a success? I know he's been injured, but he doesn't even look interested 1 bit in being here. You need heart and desire to succeed in Scottish football. Nobody does well without it. He doesn't seem to have it. Hope he proves me wrong.
13 Jan 2025 17:48:01
Cortez will grow like a ?.
13 jan 2025 17:50:03
they've had plenty inquiries about matondo fir two years, and dowell
wages are the issue.
13 Jan 2025 17:59:41
Why would we insist on an option to buy, that's something the buying club want . They want a guarantee they will be able to buy him, if he does well . That, unless your Bayern, you can't recall the player and sell him elsewhere.
The selling club want an obligation to buy as part of the contract, that way it is in effect a deferred transfer and they must buy him.
An option means that once they have him for a few months they will send him back, just like Cifuentes .
13 Jan 2025 18:02:01
Yilmaz was in bbc totw!
13 Jan 2025 18:05:52
Gms schalke also want him.
13 Jan 2025 18:31:39
Angus I do agree they was somewhat decent before us. Dowell is especially a strange one because he was a decent player it was always just can he stay fit but for us it's like he's scared to be on the ball.
13 Jan 2025 18:35:47
No player at the club should be on more than 20k a week. The amount we've wasted on mediocre players like Matondo could have been used to bring in quality players. Thankfully We seem to be finished handing big salary contracts.
13 Jan 2025 18:40:58
Cortez was but looking superb before his injuries let's not blatantly lie. He done ok and could turn out to be good ?.
13 Jan 2025 18:45:22
As long as we do manage to get Matondo off our books. He's our answer to Forrest Gump - great at running but not necessarily with the ball.
13 Jan 2025 18:46:41
Hope you are right John, Schalke fans hold him in high regard despite not really setting the heather on fire.
13 jan 2025 19:02:54
he will make way fir the three to come in, , I've no doubt of that, cameron may well be the first.
13 jan 2025 19:11:17
i've really no idea coops, probably one we haven't heard about from abroad.
13 Jan 2025 19:34:09
Just one to remember on players salaries, they get taxed half of what they earn. The club need to offset that taxation to entice players to come here. Scotland being worse than South of the border. As a club we were spending in excess £500K/ week in players wages.
13 Jan 2025 19:36:57
Italian league might suit matondo. Space to use his pace. Little more time to think about things. Just not suited for the Scottish game.
13 jan 2025 19:49:09
listen warrior
when soneone gives " they're opinion. " that a player was looking superb or great or whatever that person felt
you have no right to accuse them of telling " blatant lies" . no right at all,
13 Jan 2025 20:00:58
An obligation of £1 would suffice!
13 Jan 2025 20:45:02
Cortes looked better on the left cutting in. His body posture before crossing from the right looks weird, unnatural even. Would have liked EHL's insight on that.
13 Jan 2025 20:51:41
EHL spoke highly of Cortez, several times, when he was posting on the main forum.
13 Jan 2025 23:31:19
Tom juat like you in a couple of games last season i liked what i seen in Cortes.
14 Jan 2025 08:08:02
Certainly showed glimpses of what he can do, but it's consistency is what we need.
14 Jan 2025 08:21:57
Tom, you're right, Cortes will be a player and it could clearly be seen how good he was prior to the injury. Quite clear that Rover is just baiting you. He does it with a few on here. Can't even try to hide it. Best ignored.
14 Jan 2025 08:26:28
consistency will come with game time and confidence I hope.
