Not sure if this has been mentioned previously. Rumoured we are watching 22 year old Arif Hanapi, Malaysian international and playing in Malaysian Super League. Right winger. 15 goals and 8 assists in 23 appearances this season. No idea about value.

Correct profile.

Sounds worth a look as if talent is there first and foremost then ye look at the money we can bring in from Malaysian market it’s worth a look for sure.

Impressive goal involvement stats for club and country over the past 3 years, including in the asian champions league.

I posted about Arif Aiman Hanapi in November. The link was from New Strait Times via one of the Rangers sites at the start of November. No idea if it's someone we are looking at, maybe one of the guys will know.

That’s the type of player we should be looking at.

Always found this one interesting. A total unknown from my own perspective which brings with it a bit of romance / excitement for me. Tough to make a call on guys playing in leagues like that I imagine. But surely could be worth doing from a commercial perspective alone.

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news but can confirm there is nothing in this rumour.
Centre half is the priority this window and possibly one more (depending on pre contracts) .

John was correct regarding the club countering Watford's offer initial offer for Dowell. Clubs discussed including Porteous in a potential deal but that hasn't progressed due to other clubs enquiring about Porteous down south. A deal that might be re-looked at towards the end of the window if there has been no movement for either player before then.

With Cerny unlikely to return once his loan ends it would make sense to get this lad in now and give him time to settle in while we still have Cerny but with all the talk being there are no funds in this window unless we can get him as a loan to buy (obligation or option) I can't see it happening in this window.

The rumour originally come from the rangers journal and then a newspaper in his home country posted about rangers interest but linked the post from RJ so I think that’s where it’s come from think there’s nothing in this link tbh.

Said all that back in November.

Read about him ages ago so if it's surfacing again then it's probably someone we are looking at to replace Cerny when he leaves. Would be cheap enough but when I looked him up last time someone mentioned him, he had stated that he is only about being involved in the attack and does his work when he has the ball. Not sure he would track back or when he was quoted saying this so may not be true now.

Missed out on this future star when he was available in the Aussie league.
Lads years ahead of his age in skill / talent and ability.

Bayern munich picked him up for a measly 1.8 mill euros, gave him a run in their B team, then loaned him out to Grasshoppers Zurich.

Nestory Irankunda - Lad only seems to score world class goals and insane angles as well, RW and only 18, instead of spending 2 mill euros loaning Cerny, Koppen should have been locking down this lad to a 4-5 yr contract, as he will just get tossed around and loaned out at Bayern until he in is early 20's, IMHO a far better winger than Cerny will ever be, and has far more potential and will play for bigger clubs than Cerny.

Cortes (with his original potential) Igamane and Irankunda would have been some front 3.

Another winger we should be looking at buying playing in the serbian league.

Zubairu Ibrahim
20 years old
LW
18 games in the serbian league
6 goals
3 assists.
bought for 500k
now worth 2 mill and climbing.

That is 2 quality young lads for a mere 2.5 mill euros.
both in key positions we need young raw talent in.
both would have been perfect wingers to compliment Igamane on either wing, instead we are looking at players 30 plus and wondering why our player trading model is not working out.
Youth is the way forward if we are to make money in the longterm.
Propper is a perfect example of another dud we will struggle to get rid of and make any money on. probably haven't paid his full transfer fee yet, i get that there has to be some experience.
look at Igamane and Jefte both young cheap and talented with huge potential, that is how we build a team of desirable sellable talented assets, not throwing big fees and wages at mature duds.
We should be looking at the 18 to 22 range that is where you raw talented potential is.

Laudrup Koppen wasn't even at the club when Bayern signed Irankunda so not sure how he was suppose to lock him into a 4/ 5 year deal.

Good spot Aero
Had my actual signing date and pre agreed signing dates mixed up Irankunda officially signed with Bayenr july 2024, deal was agreed back in Nov 2023, Koppen didn't become Rangers Head of scouting until Jan 2nd 2024.
