Clement will not be sacked before the old firm - Club are aware of the potentially toxic reaction following the game if the result isn’t a positive one. Hesitation due to the quick turnaround between yesterday’s game and the old firm. Another factor worth noting is the January transfer plans around the corner. The club had committed to supporting Clement in the transfer window. With conversations and offers out for players.

The sacking of Clement may have a knock on effect as to what business we may be able to do.

Agree5 Disagree0

Not sacking Clement will have an even bigger knock on effect. Fans will vote with their feet and attendances will dwindle.

30 dec 2024 17:58:04
i don't believe they will sack him at all unless it gets ridiculous, but

he must bring in stronger players to seethe club thru the season and in cl play offs, signing you gsters now isn't what's required, a core element is required and that is a strong spine, or we go from week to week with weak players and the machine saying “ can't play 90 minutes this week “,

30 Dec 2024 18:17:55
TT is ridiculous the now. Especially after the starting line up yesterday.

30 Dec 2024 18:23:37
The rebuild is a long term project, there is no point in sacking Clement half way through. The repercussions would be a negative impact for getting a new manager of decent quality as we will be looked at as being “toxic. ”further to the reduction of monies due to non- attendance, the vast majority of ticket sales are from season ticket holders which is already for this season money in the bank,

30 Dec 2024 18:30:02
He'll get until March I would imagine. If there is no progress he will be gone.

30 Dec 2024 18:42:16
Tom that’s exactly what I think mate.

Get 2 solid centre half’s in and an experienced centre mid. Also a goal scoring centre forward.

I’d be looking for experienced players for each of them:
We should be looking at solid English pl players who are out of favour for these positions imo.
Also feel a left winger is needed but those positions are a must:

30 Dec 2024 18:44:44
Who’s our best player TT? Igamane young player who’s his worst signing? Propper old experienced. Just sign good players.

30 dec 2024 18:52:15
its been mire “ ridiculous “ than this mate

its the celtic situation that's stirring the unrest, had we been closer to them and come back fir a draw at fur park the rehetiric would be different, its poor now, but it can get better, or wiorse, the aim now is a strong spine to tak3 us to cl qualifiers, my opinion, get shankland in ti replace dessers, get a strong composed centre half, get players like yilmaz and hagi out and tav whos awful neverending crosses drive me insane needs dropped fir good not a couple of games and fight fir every point, every tackle, starting in thursday at ibrox, we need to get into cl.

30 Dec 2024 19:08:47
Hopefully we have at least one centre half ready to sign on Wednesday and play on Thursday.

30 Dec 2024 19:09:28
You mean it’s not rediculous now?

30 Dec 2024 19:12:50
TT12,i agree with you, as i also don't think they'll sack philippe clement before or after the old firm game irrespective of the result, just my opinion ?.

30 Dec 2024 20:22:11
The issue I have is other than nice, Spurs, celtic and kilmarnock we haven't seen progression. We are badly missing Souttar and now Balogun. I believe that just now we need RB, 2 CB, CM, RW, ST and also to sign Cerny or replace him.
If I'm in charge my team would be getting built around Niko Raskin. He is the only one that looks like he cares.

30 Dec 2024 20:34:10
Shanks? A youngster is scoring more than him in the hearts team ?‍♂️ a 17 year old. Oh aye shanks is the answer we have always been looking for.

30 Dec 2024 20:47:44
Just give him the rest of the season and if we things start to change consistently and we see it then maybe he is right in terms of project.

30 Dec 2024 22:44:59
I was just passing on the information I’d been given.

But in my personal opinion he’s got to go now.
We can’t go on a sustained run of wins, any form of setback such as the cup final leads to a further slump in form.
He’s had more than a year at the task and regardless of a “rebuild” I can’t see any progress.
We have no identity or style of play (which is fine if we’re grinding out wins) but we’re relying on individual pieces of quality to win games right now.

I understand the point around injuries to the centre backs. But common sense should tell you we couldn’t rely on Souttar for 50 odd games along with a 37 year old Balogun.

Let’s be honest here, we know how this ends. We’re delaying the inevitable. I personally hope the delay in sacking him is because we’re identifying or reaching out to potential managers to replace him.

30 Dec 2024 23:13:53
Just my tuppence worth.

At the beginning of the season we were told a rebuild was required and the business model was sign young talented players to sell them for more cash.
We all bought into it. It sounded great, at last a forward thinking manager.

However, we have had 1 transfer window and tried hard to get rid of previous under performing players but that’s not been easy because some are just here for the money and that has impacted on more new players arriving.

As usual, we have no patience and don’t want to wait even though this MAY be a great thing for our club both on and off the park.

I can see improvement since the start of the season but with young guys comes a lack of consistency.

We now have a Manager that has a history of winning more than the 3 previous Managers.

I’m not saying I’m happy with the way things are going and I’m not here to pledge my love to PC but something inside me thinks this might just turn out better than it is now.

30 Dec 2024 23:43:32
I agree Bathgate. I’m still not done with PC. In the words of Axl Rose, all we need is just a little patience.

31 Dec 2024 01:12:53
Storm that youngster is James Wilson and we should be trying everything to get him tied up, he's ooc in June, said this a couple of months ago, men I know only rave about this boy.

31 Dec 2024 07:43:43
Bathgate a very sensible post and probably sums up more eruditely what I think to be the case. I see that this is what is required whoever is the manager to make us consistently competitive.

31 Dec 2024 08:19:34
Bathgate may have given a point, but while I'm not enamoured by our lack of consistency to maintain fwd progress, we were told guys of a total restructuring, think it may be a fair bit of pain before we do settle. Alas we are not known for our patience. Time? But will it be enough given?

31 Dec 2024 09:13:59
If celtic give us a doing there's no way he can survive it.

31 Dec 2024 09:21:06
Paul what happens if we give celtic a doing?

31 Dec 2024 09:23:39
I for one wouldn’t be giving P C more money to spend ( waste ) in January he has got to go now.

31 Dec 2024 09:39:15
Mystar I know who the youngster is.

31 Dec 2024 09:41:18
Very good post Bathgate, there was always going to be bumps in the road, in this major transformation of football operations at the club.

We fans are suffering, it's depressing, but, as an optimist, I really do think next season will be better.

31 Dec 2024 09:43:00
Paul, i wouldn't be too sure about that. He's more life's than a cat. No other manager in Rangers history would have survived this league form in 2024.

31 Dec 2024 10:39:15
Correct mark.

31 Dec 2024 11:04:23
People go on about it being a young team and needs time to settle - Butland, Tav, Soutts/ Balo/ Propper, Bejrami, cerny, Hagi and Danilo? Your talking 7 of them are guaranteed starters all 25+, I wouldn't mind as much the inconsistency if we actually had a young new squad but 6 of they starters are in at least their 2nd years.

31 Dec 2024 11:32:53
ridvan, Raskin, Jefte, Sterling, Dio, Barron, Bajrami, cortes, Danilo, Igamane, are all 25 or younger and all played as starters in some of the last 3 games. that is why the team is called young. you need some experience alongside them to try to guide them through games. Celtic have Engels, Bernardo, Kuhn and Day who are regulars as their only under 25 players. just as a comparison.

31 Dec 2024 11:34:37
My star?? what a laugh. What indication have you got from us this season or any time in clement reign that were capable of giving them a doing ???. Our defence is not capable for us ti give them a doing.

31 Dec 2024 12:02:06
With the lack of defensive options we have at the moment giving celtic a hiding will be tougher than the cup final, if Sterling starts at CB we are in trouble as their attackers will focus on his side knowing that is the easy route to goals.
Butland has been pretty shakey of late, no doubt sleeping less and more fatigues than usual with the arrival of his new baby.

Would love for us to leather them this time, hope we do.

31 Dec 2024 12:16:59
No point sacking till summer if at all.
2nd in the league. what it was always going to be.
Still in Eurpoe. doing well.
One cup Final. Defeated.
Probs another Final to come.
Injuries screwing us again.
We need CBs and a poacher in Jan sales.
We also need Tav, Dessers, Davies, Propper, King, Devicne all gone in Jan perm or loans.

We do have the nucleus of a team here. but injuries and some strange tactics are holding us back.

It's a project under PC. that's it.
Or a project under someone else!
We need to hold our nerve till the summer and see how this plays out!

Fact.

31 Dec 2024 12:32:48
Doesn’t matter about the result he signed a contract worth 10M he won’t be sacked.

31 Dec 2024 12:58:48
Paul anything can happen in these games and they weren't better in our last meeting.

31 Dec 2024 13:52:11
Yes they were poor and they still put 3 passed us.

31 Dec 2024 13:56:29
To be honest not focusing on Thursday. I want to see an improvement in the squad during this window. This will be his second of the re-build and therefore should get better. No excuses. He knows the league and the expectations of club now therefore both him and Koppen should have a better idea. I'm not expecting the finish article, but you can see that Diomande, Cortes and Propper don't suit our league. Our away form is rank and indicates players struggle away from Ibrox.

Remember he indicated we would see improvements come November, yet a couple of injuries seem to have de-railed it. don't buy it.
