Yilmaz, Tav and Matondo have interest but will be dependent on us securing replacements - so may be closer to the end of the window.

John, he is a monster of a centre half, miles better than we have and would be a great signing. I would be shocked if he ends up at us. I could see a premier league team taking him.

John, heard his name mentioned a few times.
Hard to get any handle on potential incomings as there are so many rumours - most valid as we're actively watching/ monitoring so many players.
We are definitely interested in using the SPL to improve the depth of our squad - PC and Koppen seem to see a lot that they like in the league.

I take it it's the Sunderland centre half Daniel Ballard you're talking about John ? I've actually seen him playing for his country and a couple of times for Sunderland and he looks a good centre half mate ? However i don't know what he'd cost and could be too pricey for us ?.

Excellent update EHL. These would all be hugely positive and I’d snap your hand off if all could happen. A fit Lawrence to the end of the season would be ok as he’d largely be a sub or for lower games. I’d hope we have targets identified and moves lined up. Thanks for the info, that’s very positive and if they come to pass, would majorly progress the rebuild.

As far as the spl is concerned I'd be looking at Mackenzie, shankland, Cameron and would use a big chunk of our budget to bring in young Lennon Miller.

So it's Ballard from Sunderland then John? can't really see that
happening, he'll be well out of our price range, would be an excellent cb for us, I would be very happy if he's a Rangers player, but really don't think Sunderland will even think about selling him with still looking for promotion, he also he a good few years on his contract.

I live in North East and have asked a few of my Sunderland mates about Dan Ballard I was told that he was aware that Rangers have been keeping tabs on him and he is not against coming to Rangers if Sunderland don't get promoted that's all they said they knew.

BAR I was going to comment that the next part of this story would be around how we didn't get any money for them. we can't have it both ways saying they are rubbish and not "Rangers class" but then expect clubs to pay big money for them. Also if they don't want to go then we have to make allowances of sorts to get them out the door early before their contract ends. just a reality of life in the way we did business up till now.

Syall be a good squad option to have Dundee really struggle without him and he makes them tick. he's really solid defensively and is decent going forward think gogic but actually has ability and wouldn’t be on much a week.

Rangers signed Leon Balogun at 35 while releasing Lewis Mayo at the same time. We should have shut the academy doors then. The stagnation of Bailey Rice just confirms that the Ibrox academy is not somewhere young talent should be.

Lewis Mayo wasn`t good enough to breakthrough and still wouldn`t get a game . A good solid SPFL player who is playing at his correct level, Balogun is a different level as a centre back.
Rice is still only 18, there is time for him to breakthrough but if you are saying he should have been in the Rangers first team at 16 you have got to be kidding.
Before you start comparing him with Miller at Motherwell, yes he`s broken through and done well but there is a reason players get chances at smaller clubs earlier, they are not expected to win every game. Also there is the possibility that maybe Miller is a better player than Rice or even just has matured earlier.

CHOF. all teams should do that if the success rates are to be believed. figures are from England but you will see the success rate and that it won't be that different up here in fact probably worse due to pressure on teams to succeed or not get relegated. Depending on the base model used the number of youth players making it to EPL is 0.012%, that is 180 out of the 1.5m boys playing organised youth football. 0.5% signed by age of 9 make it to the first team of a club. those released are reported to suffer clinical levels of psychological distress so many will leave football completely.
Re need for success a manager will look to buy a seasoned pro they know will do the job rather than a young academy player who will make mistakes whilst learning. Just use this season for us as an example people were calling for managers head after 6 games. some granted were saying that they would be happy for academy players to be played instead but were very much in the minority.
By getting 1 or 2 successes though we save £millions in transfer fees whilst selling some on at £100 thousands so economically it still must work.
not saying I know the answers but supposedly new methods of scouting using data rather than the naked eye will prove more successful.

John did I say you were making things up? all i said was Sunderland do not sell him for 3/ 4m, will be over 5m probably be even more, signed him for a couple of million a couple of seasons ago and he's improved a great deal since then and the best cb at Sunderland in my opinion and only a young cb.
