While the topic of our striker cyriel dessers is rife on here atm, i was reading an article there stating french club st. etienne are interested in signing him in january and rangers would be looking for at least £3.5million to sell him ?.

if we can get £3.5million for dessers i wouild take it,
we can genuinely replace him with Shankland for like 500K in Jan, and then use that money to cover other things like covering Barrons compo fee and buying the young midfielder we are looking at for like £2 million, and we also probably have enough left to get lyall from the dee aswell, so we can strengthen the squad with no additional loans need.
i know some people don't want shanks as he's not some world class superstar but he can easily do better than what dessers does so that not a major issue.

If we can get that sort of money then we should take it . He is 30 years old now, he is probably third choice striker if they are all fit and its now obvious that he is not the answer as a Rangers striker and he will not get any better . He will score a few goals, though not as many as he should, but the rest of his game is just not good enough . If someone is looking from the outside sees his goals and thinks he is worth £3.5 million we should take it and invest it elsewhere in the team.

SamG, we got offered more than £3.5million in the summer for dessers from atlanta in the mls i believe and dessers didn't want to leave and so it got knocked back did you not know that mate ? So personally, i do think we'll get £3.5 million for dessers from some buying club ?.

I'm not sure we did, if we did I think we would have took that money in the summer. I would imagine that clubs would have watched him this season and that's why we won't get £3.5m. Would we want to spend that kind of money on a player who has performed as bad as Dessers has? Its an obvious No. If we do get that kind of money then happy days, just can't see clubs being stupid enough.

Probably end up another deal similar to Lammers where the money goes to settling our original transfer costs. But regardless, he’s not good enough and even if we could bring in a loan deal that would enhance the squad u til the summer then we should go for it.

My star Sam’s just got an agenda ignore him. If we replace dessers with shankland then this club has not progressed at all. I’ve heard we are monitoring an Argentinian striker that plays in Croatia think he was spoke about in the summer on here maybe he’s the replacement should dessers leave.

I would think that that's a strong possibility Zikos. How many people told us we made money on Lammers or on Goldson etc in the summer. I think people need to realise that we were the only club foolish enough to waste huge sums of money on these players, no other clubs are going to replicate our mistake and give us our money back on Dessers. I'd be willing to bet that Dessers moves on for an 'undisclosed fee' with our accounts showing something similar to the £800k we got in the summer.

I think a lot of clubs would pay money for a striker with 12 goals which is about 25% of the total goals we have scored.
Oh and Samwise Gamgee (samG) almost every team lists their signings as undisclosed. look at your own clubs transfer dealings this year none of the 3 main signings had prices in their press announcement. Price is guesswork form media sources anyway and what is on transfermarkt

6 league goals midway through December is poor imo. On course to match what he got last year 12 (I think) .
His goal scoring record in the league is poor but let’s be honest that’s not the reason we all want shot of him. He is just a rubbish footballer. Can’t run, dribble, hold the ball or even win a foul. Constantly falling about all over the place and not to mention his finishing.
Genuinely thought when he came on at the weekend he would run himself into the ground for the last 30mins but couldn’t even do that!

Dessers probably gets more stick than others because the rest of the team aren’t chipping in with goals to support him (I accept that) .
However the rest of the team isn’t chipping in with goals because he can’t hold up the ball, link up and bring others into play.
It’s nothing personal, he just isn’t very good.

Yes the American club made an offer but they will have likely watched Dessers this season and thought "thank god we didn't get him! "
Does Dessers get a lot of stick? Yes.
Does Dessers miss lots of easy chances and gives the ball away and dives about? YES!
No wonder the other players in the squad are showing more fight on the pitch the last few games, since Dessers is not playing and wasting loads of chances or not holding the ball up.
Hopefully a club that's not seen Dessers this season offers over £3m in January and we bite their hand off for it but i'd take anything of £1m to get rid of him and never hear his name again.
