I'm just after reading an article there that koppen has stated today, he is now looking to appoint former rangers players that know everything regarding what this club means, to work within the academy which will give grounding to young academy players coming through our academy and hopefully progress into our first team ?I wonder which former rangers players koppen will bring in to appoint ?.

I don`t see that Ian Murray or even Defoe who spent a couple of years at Ibrox would be able to help the young players come to terms with being Rangers players . Ex players who have come through the ranks or been brought up as Rangers fans are what is required.
I would exclude Barry Ferguson from this as he had a reputation for bullying the younger players when they were breaking through and he was captain, can`t see how he would have changed much.

Please let's no waste anymore money on back room staff that really don't add much to the set up in reality!
Passion in the dug out, will only get ius so far.
In fact not that far actually.
If we have money to spend on this, I would much prefer they keep it or spend it on the pitch please.
I am fed up with loyalties holding us back!

Another waste of money paying wages to guys for absolutely nothing. When was the last time we actually produced a good player through our academy. Good statement on paper but the words are hollow, even if we have quality in the academy they won't get a chance as PC will continue to play his favs and give no minutes to these guys.

My Star, didn`t say that Murray couldn`t be a coach but he wouldn`t be able to contribute much to helping the youngsters Rangers DNA. He is a Hibee and was a bang average Rangers player in the relatively short time he was with us.
The foolmonty, Alex Rae is a first team coach these roles are to help get the youngsters better prepared as Rangers players.
If everyone thinks that the Academy is not doing its job then the fact that Koppen has fresh ideas to try to fix it is a good thing, if we change nothing then it will never get better. Don`t agree that Clement won`t give them a chance, McCausland is in the team and others are in the squad . Are they good enough to play though?

The problem is most of the academy's players are deemed "prospects", just like igamane, is he gd enough as it stands to play some minutes? Koppen may try to fix it, but for me, most of the academy players' ceilings will be as you say, the squad/ bench, and no further, or will we continue to purchase players rather than promote from within.
