I see stories doing the rounds again that our manager philippe clement is the favourite to become the next belgium manager as tedesco is on the brink of being sacked. ?

Clement's former ceo at Brugge has now been appointed in a prominent position within the Belgian fa and that's why this story has resurfaced as he rates clement very highly ?.

Fingers crossed. My Ahole is going like a rabbits nose at the thought of him being in charge for this cup final.

18 Nov 2024 13:54:07
Lets hope this is true, it would be some feat if we managed to get rid of PC and make money via compensation.

18 Nov 2024 13:57:25
would I be interpreting the sentiment correctly that the manager that's not good enough for us is good enough for the Belgian national team? asking for a friend.

18 Nov 2024 14:06:33
Stuart, do you really think it’ll make a difference? Unfortunately folk need to realise that right now they just have a much better team and set of players, which is hardly surprising when you compare the difference in finances. Not saying that in a one off game we may beat them, but fear we still have a long and painful road ahead before we close the gap.

18 Nov 2024 14:17:09
We can only hope and pray that someone would pay to take him off our hands. Could be best bit of business we have done in years. The contract extention would be a master stroke.

I don’t know what difference it’ll make in the long term as it depends who we bring in and things behind the scene getting sorted but a wee new manager kick up the @rse could boost us for the final at least. Phil is on borrowed time though that’s for sure.

18 Nov 2024 15:46:42
I'll pray to that Paul?Amen.

18 Nov 2024 16:38:08
Clementimes he has already proved himself in Belgium, he has struggled here but has a good, track record elsewhere. We play a different style of football here and not everybody can adapt to it.

18 Nov 2024 16:45:00
He'll still be held in high regard in Belgium football.

18 Nov 2024 16:54:33
Good managers can change tactics during matches. I've never seen him change a formation during a game that turned the game in our favour.

18 Nov 2024 18:36:13
Would make my season after the coaster f*** he has left us with.

18 Nov 2024 19:26:03
Dado it's the club that's put us in this position. Still think he deserves time after the time he was given with hampden saga and no leadership. Which doesn't look like changing any time soon.

18 Nov 2024 19:45:08
Would be a massive blow if we were to lose him.

18 Nov 2024 19:59:54
?????? EHL! Stop it! ??????.

18 Nov 2024 20:48:53
It just wouldn’t ehl.

18 Nov 2024 22:19:19
The club played its part Rangers56 I don’t disagree. You have to acknowledge that his inability to change his tactics and pick players who are playing poor is also hammering us. We don’t appear to have any clear tactics and our play b is more of play a. That’s on him and him alone. Some of the players he’s signed leave a lot to be desired, while that’s not all on him, he has a seat at the table.

18 Nov 2024 22:21:36
Neil warnock incoming ??????.

19 Nov 2024 00:43:58
Do national teams pay compensation? I’m not saying the don’t, but I can’t remember any nation paying compensation, not even the bigger nations.

19 Nov 2024 08:01:19
Clementimes and Ger78 both bang on - far too many on here see a change of manager as the ideal magical fix - we have been broken from the top of the tree down for many years which has been crux of the failings and this is unfortunately the climax of all these years of mis-management - another manager will have same players-same or less finances and same unbelievable financial gulf - SOME TRUE REALISM IS ORDER OF THE DAY- I FOR ONE don't WANT THE MANAGERIAL MERRYGOROUND TO BE OUR NORM.

19 Nov 2024 08:56:29
Yes they do zikos.

19 Nov 2024 09:07:47
Zikos yes they do.

19 Nov 2024 09:47:53
Clementine it's not about being good enough but PC still doesn't get the need to win every week or play a style of football suited to the players at his disposal but the national team he'd have his pick of there best players and could implement a style if you use that logic Walter was sacked at Everton mcleish by us and villa but both did great with the national team.

19 Nov 2024 10:14:00
just caught a photo on somebodies paper on the train . is Grado the new tech director?

19 Nov 2024 10:33:36
really don't get this, if anyone believes that any other manager coming in will allow us to beat celtic is living in cloud cuckoo land. we had to get rid of players for financial reasons and replace them with young guys with less experience and a lot less money. add to that with injuries to a lot of players hasn't helped. he is playing players out of position because he has no other choice.

we can't keep changing managers who will want their own players in to suit their style of play and tactics. half or more of our problems is not being able to get rid of players who we paid over the odds for, that isn't changing no matter what manager comes in.

19 Nov 2024 10:48:52
He needs gone and gone now because this team is sinking with him in charge and sinking fast.
I think there is a quality in the team because I disagree that the team is hopeless but not getting coached correctly to their strengths and the managers system and setup is totally flawed for domestic football.
Agreed we do need more quality, course we do but the season is not totally dead yet but is with him in charge.

19 Nov 2024 11:04:19
Honestly new manager coming in has f##k all to do with beating Celtic well this season anyway. As the current one has got us chasing Aberdeen fur f##k sake we have struggled to beat most teams we have come up against. let’s be honest the manager is simply not good enough and has anyone seen progress in the year he has been at rangers I certainly have not. Get a new manager in let him have 6 months to settle and implement a new style for the start on next season then we can have at least a go at Celtic.

19 Nov 2024 11:16:26
Not that it really matters but what price is he? Are we talking 3/1 fav or 1/100 fav? Seems made up rag material.

19 Nov 2024 13:53:40
Belgium can find a coach without need for compen, plenty available.

19 Nov 2024 15:33:42
The difference is that Belgium want a home grown manager so he fits the brief there and his old Mentor at Brugge Vincent Mannaert is just about to take over the Role of Sporting director at the Belgian FA in a few weeks so he may want to try and rekindle their success.
