So guys another one away
Creag Robertson on his way out

From X social media

Creag Robertson gone. Slashed the entire recruitment and football team on Bennett and Bisgroves order and now has had enough.

How much of a state is Rangers in?

Still no CEO, B team manager running the Academy, no Director of Venue now no Director of Football Operations.

Agree2 Disagree0

I've heard that he was away before he was pushed.

Koppen was not impressed with the way he was negotiating on deals over the summer and was directly at fault for 3 of the teams top targets not joining.

08 Oct 2024 22:40:05
Potentially very concerning.

08 Oct 2024 22:40:48
Stig could you advise us what the remit of Robertson was at rangers, What did Director of Football Operations entail and what did he deliver.

08 Oct 2024 22:50:02
Det, that is the story circulating.

08 Oct 2024 23:52:56
Not having someone in that position is concerning, but him being in that position was concerning.

He was vastly under qualified for the position and leaned on far too heavily over the past 2 windows.

I read that our doctor and head physio are leaving at the end of the year too. Is this true?

09 Oct 2024 08:10:45
Is it concerning? People been complaining about how club run so now lots are moving on, I didn't have any knowledge particularly about this but in normal business this downsizing can be getting a business ripe for a takeover?

09 Oct 2024 08:36:27
I wouldn't say our doctor and physio leaving is a bad thing, they can't keep our players fit?

09 Oct 2024 08:48:12
Doctor is retiring from what i heard.

09 Oct 2024 09:26:26
John. as far as I’m aware his job this year was to oversee the downsizing of the squad and the wage bill? Done on Bennet and bisgrove orders whilst bisgrove was here from what I’ve read?
You may know better?

His job would also entail maximising our merchandise and ticket sales and being involved in negotiating player contracts overseeing the academy and possibly being involved in handling coaching staff contracts and helping identify players coming in

God knows John think it would be a varying job description what we do know he’s stepping down with no other job to go too? From what I’m reading

I’m far more concerned that half our directors etc are all walking away and no one is permanently filling the positions

And no one from the club is talking about it

John, how do you think the next AGM is going to go?

09 Oct 2024 10:16:52
It's not the fact these guys leave it's the fact the club don't appoint successors for months and that must impact how the club operate, no CEO no full time Chairman no1 running the academy and right ir wrong it gives an impression of a club who have no idea where there going or if they do no idea how to get there.

09 Oct 2024 10:29:26
Sting same as always. Some one will ask why we don’t sell rangers chocolate anymore
And car park at the Albion.

I can understand the concern but we moan the board isn't good enough and then when there are changes made then we complain about that as well. There has been a lot going on with stadium rebuild etc so it may explain delay. Just my understanding of how senior management appointments are made but:

1. Academy director leaves. we still have a head of academy so the day to day will still be happening. strategy and place on board might be issue. We were looking at gent from right to dream academy in May.
2. CEO: he moved up from merchandising and oversaw the stadium debacle so might have been a step too far. Most executives/ directors are required to give 3 to 6 months notice and this didn't seem to happen and no mention of compensation I can see. so was he allowed to leave or let go and the job in Saudi was at the right time.
3. Chairman: unfortunately his health was being affected so not much here.
4. Football operations. He is leaving giving 3 months notice by the looks of things so will be in post until end of year which gives us time to replace. he again moved up from Education officer which seemed an odd step so may not be liking the job or not up to it. He is moving on as well to explore other opportunities which is a bit of a cliche when people leave a job.
there aren't a lot of top notch people around able to do these jobs so it can take time to get people in place and if the board is firefighting other issues then even longer as that is given priority
so it might mean there is cause for concern but equally it might just be timescales on how long these things take to get the right people. the fans wish of a new board will be the end result though.

John if you had 1 question you could ask what would it be?

09 Oct 2024 11:16:18
Don`t know much about this guy but his name seemed more to the fore when new signings were being discussed than previously, maybe because Bisgrove had gone. If he was overseeing all the things listed it sounds as if he was picking up some jobs because of our lack of CEO. Maybe he feels that's gone on too long or maybe after doing all that he wanted the CEO job, was told no, and so has decided to leave. I can`t see how he can be pushed because of Koppens opinion because he is Director of Football Recruitment and therefore, at most, at the same level of Robertson. If anything Robertson could be questioning Koppens role in bringing in the likes of Propper, Silva, Diomande, Nsiala, Igamane and Cortes at a time where we are having to replace so many players and every pound is a prisoner.

09 Oct 2024 11:18:14
It is kinda worrying, however I hope you guys are correct and we are having a clear out. ??.

09 Oct 2024 11:41:24
Just curious det, who were these top 3 signings he is supposedly at fault for?

09 Oct 2024 13:30:36
The board do what exactly other than get a free hurl?

09 Oct 2024 17:58:20
Fund us with millions.

09 Oct 2024 19:06:16
up till now at least £10.5 million overspend pre-player trading losses.

09 Oct 2024 19:31:43
Angus I did think it was strange that Bisgrove was allowed to leave right away and not work any notice, but I did read that we got compensation from SA. Don`t if it was a fact or speculation at the time.

10 Oct 2024 17:14:15
wsl, John says in another thread that the compensation was written into his contract so assume that was paid and he was then allowed to leave without notice. that seems to make the most sense.

10 Oct 2024 18:59:05
OWS it may take months to replace someone as they also will have to work the 3 to 6 months notice normally written as a minimum into contracts at that level. that could be a reason no-one has been appointed yet. press might not have got a sniff this time. word gets out and person decides not to come or we decide not to take them.
