On the Hagi subject. If it's true his next game triggers 1.5 mill payment to Genk. Then why don't they try and negotiate a lesser payment or they get nowt.
If true that the pay increase has been sorted. Then surely all could come to some arrangement rather than ruin a player.

Who said the pay increase has been sorted? All that has been said was Hagi coming out and saying ‘there are ways around things’. That could mean anything? Maybe he offered to defer the increase but still wanted it just at a later date? Maybe he offered to lessen the amount but still wanted some kind of increase?
Maybe he offered to forgo the increase but instead wanted some kind of performance related bonus instead? No one has any idea what he meant by that. But no has has stated in any way that ‘the pay increase situation has been sorted’.

Would we accept that with any add ons with players that have left Rangers, prob not.
25 Sep 2024 17:37:46
Only rangers who are making a fool of themselves here man don't give out contracts and add ons if your no going to honour them.

Horse because we don't want to play him. PC said he wanted to concentrate on players who wanted to be here. Hagi and his agent spent the whole time in the press saying he wanted to leave. then when no-one wants him he says he loves Rangers and wants to stay. so if he is being ruined it is his and his agents doing.

Gers78, Maybe i said "If true"
Angus, fair point, but how much interference did his father have in that?
25 Sep 2024 18:42:09
Player ruining himself he could of left and be playing but would rather take the bigger wage, Hagi knows the situation and Rangers not hiding anything, it’s his decision not saying he is wrong as would probably stick with the cash as well.
25 Sep 2024 18:45:05
Fair enough but I’ve not heard anything anywhere to even suggest that his pay issue has been sorted. So really there’s nothing to say ‘if true’ about.

RaskinLoyal, I`m sure we honour agreements with players but why give an extra £8k a week and a payment to Genk for a player who would be a bit part player at best and a player who made it quite clear he didn`t want to play for us . It makes financial sense not to trigger these payments .
25 Sep 2024 19:44:03
If was us who agreed it lol now we’re paying a big wage for a guy in the b team.
25 Sep 2024 20:07:10
We don’t want him and he didn’t want to leave the club are doing nothing wrong plain and simple.

Takes me back to the Michael ball days.

Horse. TB H I don't care how much influence his dad had. If he really wanted to he would have said at the start how he wanted to stay and his dad and his agent weren't speaking for him. not until he found out no-one wanted him did he start the I love Rangers cr*p. and Raskin yes we may be paying a big wage but he will be gone in January and we won't be paying the whole 2 years of an extra £8k per week and the £1M to Genk. Raskin I worry that you never see any positives about my club always willing to look at the negatives, as reported by a lying media. I mean that about every team with the media they want to get 'fans' to read their cr*p and they know there are some who will believe anything.

You just can’t sell a really poor player who doesn’t want to move to a club of his level. Plenty of clubs in Romania, Bulgaria and Poland want him but he feels he’s too good for them. I wish him every success with our b-team although I expect we have better youth players in there already.
26 Sep 2024 08:47:16
Think this is a shocking way to treat one of our own who actually wants to stay and play for our club. He's a really good player to have. Better n more goals in him than some available and could be the player to unlock and score these goals we crave, especially in Europe.
26 Sep 2024 10:34:12
Why would we agree to pay Genk or Hagi any more money when he's likely to leave for nothing in the summer or pennies in January?
26 Sep 2024 12:30:59
RaskinLoyal, we obviously agreed the deal when we signed him and basically it was dependent on him becoming a regular first team player, so if he does well he gets more money and so does his previous club.
He hadn't really made an impact anywhere else, so it was a gamble of signing and this offset the risk. Well, he hasn't become a first team regular, due to an injury I admit, or he would've triggered this payment two years ago.
He wasn't a regular under GVB before his injury. Beale didn't fancy him, Clement is not desperate to have him back, Alaves didn't want to keep him after his loan. He's not a starter for Romania and nobody wanted to buy him. As someone says to give him a pay rise for a season for him then to walk away for nothing is bad business.
If we really want him, we should be negotiating an extension to his contract so that at least we get something if he moves away, but I just don't think Clement wants him in the squad.

The Hagi thing appears to have halted the Shankland thing so that's good .
